That is a very surprising and inspiring story. I can not imagine what it must have been like, to try to bring back a species with precisely -one- fertile female and -no- males!

He mention lions in Uganda, mountain gorillas, weta (insect species endemic to New Zealand) , and the Kakapo parrot.

Fry mentioned also an endangered insect in New Zealand - it urinated on his hand and he found he was allergic.
