saw this concert last night at wembley, I personally know diddly squat about drumming but know that he rocked the place and literally left me speechless and filled with respect. Some drum solos just sound like noise to me but he had a rhythm and energy that needs recognising in a positive way.... on and he was hot with it!!

theres a difference between a drum solo that osunds cool, and one that is actually difficult to play. this drum solo just osunds cool. any competent drummer can do it. but the majority of the poeple there dont know the simplicity of what hes playing.i wouldnt even put him in the top 100 drummers of all time.

@DaeDrums777 Please educate me on what is so simple about what he is playing. I have been playing drums longer than you and I can tell you that what he is playing is pure genius. Not only is what he doing difficult as hell but he is doing it fast and with style. I'm not sure who you put in your top 100 but he is by far in mine. Not to mention the creativity he places in his drumming is phenomenal and every drummer even ones such as Neil Peart, John Bonham, and Buddy Rich wouldn't deny his talent

@Jaytee1227 he has talent, no doubt. i KNOW he has talent. im just saying, he doesnt show that much talent in this particular solo. your misunderstanding me lol. from what i can see (which albeit it isnt very easy to see) hes doing mostly single rolls and just playing as fast as he can. check out Giuseppe Capolupo from haste the day if you want to see some chops. lol.

@DaeDrums777 Now you are making more sense lol. There are better versions of this solo. Not all of what he is playing is singles, but you are right most of it is. This solo along with most of the one's he performs with Nickelback is just meant to get the crowd hyped while showing off his incredible speed and sense of rhythm. If you watch his drum solos with Martone... Actually, just listen to the songs he plays with Martone, and I guarantee it'll be some of the best drumming you have ever hear

@Jaytee1227 oh yeah, no doubt. hes a talented drummer. and yeah, he pretty much pays a "crowd solo" where he hypes the crowd. whereas if he wereplaying like, ModernDrummer festival he'd be doing techincal stuff. word. but check out that haste the day guy. he's seriously awesome haha

I was at the Nashville concert. i have to tell you guys. i lost all respect for their drummer after hearing this solo. reason being he stole that solo from Phil Collins. my father owns a DVD of him in Germany in 1991. Phil performed the same solo that Daniel plays here. he changed a couple of things of course but its the same solo for sure. i love the band as a whole but no respect for Daniel anymore.

Ford invented the car w/ 4 wheels & a steering wheel so all other car manufacturers incl. high end sports cars stole Ford's idea & we should not have any repect for them. Regardless of whether or not this drum solo is the same or similar to another, that does not detract from the difficulty of performing the piece or the great job he did playing it.... And those who can't do the job are usually the ones who are so quick to criticize.

all i was saying was everyone is shitting over this solo when it isnt even original. im not criticizing, im pointing out a fact that you guys obviously didnt know about. i guess im alittle more educated music-wise than some here.....

You are a little "more educated" than some here? Your attitude of superiority speaks for itself. Since you feel so much more superior than the rest of us explain how saying you have "no respect for Daniel anymore" is not criticizing.. that is a retorical question, but I'm sure you know that because you know so much more than the rest of us. Some of us know good music & a great performance when we see/hear it & can enjoy the show without the need to find fault to feel better about ourselves.
