This describes their relationship perfectly. I think it was one of those things that as the viewers we could see that it was a relationship that would have worked had it ever happened but in the end Gabby would just never like him that way, and well, it can't happen if the girl stuck him in the definate "friend box" lol
(I realise this is 8 months old, but...) Because Hercules only helped her start to become good. When Xena was about to kill herself - which is what I believed she was going to do in the first episode - Gabrielle came into her and helped her want to be better. I think Gabrielle gets all the credit because she kept with Xena and kept her on the right path.

Actually, she was going to give up being a warrior. At least it looked like it judging from the fact that she buried all her warrior equipment.
