I have a video, nano, and this one. I like my video more but the shuffle is when I go outside or when I don't want to have something big in my pocket.
I really don't think I could handle having a player without any sort of interface at all. Is it just always on shuffle? I don't think I like that. Nice video though, as usual.
Actually you can turn the shuffle off and it plays in the order in which your itunes library has yoru songs. It's alright if you don't want to have a heavy video or a bulky pocket.

there is actually a hold function, you press the play/pause button for about 5secs and it goes to hold.
