@Deathstranger possibly, part of the disguise but I still don't see it, otherwise the teselecta would be indestructable (theoreticaly) unless it was a 'fake' regeneration, was made to look like he was regenerating to fool everyone. or... they fucked up. or the doctor we saw in ep1 was the doctor who did not think of using teselecta. parallel universe we will no doubt get an explanation. even if it was a mistake (which i doubt) they will come up with one to cover it up

@Deathstranger the teselecta being able to fake a regenration is conceivable, and even if it can't the doctor would probably have found a way to make it look like it, I,e hold out the arms and just turn all the lights on full blast, + sonic screw driver to make lights stronger. that will probably be it
