I understand your argument, but they could just as easily raise goats instead of pigs. Goats will eat anything, they are tough animals, and they don't harbor parasites they way pigs do. Jesus was addressing the way the Pharisees emphasized the superficial and omitted the internal - the spiritual. That can be seen throughout Matthew 23.

So the references in Rev 2 (as they both refer to immorality and eating of food sacrificed to idols in the same breath) are not to the eating of food itself, but to the idolatry that is attached to the eating of the food (again, not the food itself). Moses allowed people to eat meat because of peoples hardheartedness and lust for flesh, just like he allowed divorce due to their hardheartedness, but in the beginning it wasn't so.
