The concept is not to create something that can generate energy with not input but to use a smaller energy input to create an output a lot bigger or equal to the input(depends which way you're doing it) by switching off the current. when you try to stop a flow of current instantly it causes a huge build up of voltage which is roughly equal to the input, so the principle is that yes energy is used but it's also replaced.

What I'm saying in non-nerd term? Well basically electricity is produced by a magnet spinning in a coil. If this thing runs quick enough and the clicker was fire proof (lol). Then you could run a coil round the entire thing which in theory would produce electricty, then all you would need to do is feed it back into the clicker (the drive system). All electric motors are 'magnetic motors,' and just like your motor, they all loose energy to friction, electrical resistance, and magnetic hysteresis. That said, motors are still cool, and magnets will always feel a little magical.

What I'm saying in non-nerd term? Well basically electricity is produced by a magnet spinning in a coil. If this thing runs quick enough and the clicker was fire proof (lol). Then you could run a coil round the entire thing which in theory would produce electricty, then all you would need to do is feed it back into the clicker (the drive system). Any additional power created could be used for other means, giving you an electromagnetic generator. A circle of power and power.

Neat, but you need a capacitor to avoid sparks and fire. Compare it to an old ignitionsystem with brakerpoints, the capacitor (or condensor) take care of the spike between the dicharges.

When you have it driving a generator it does indeed initially need a charge from outside to start. However, when it gets going it produces more power than it uses to rotate.

This thing is freaking hilarious. :) I love the speed and the sound of the clicking. Really, this is a pretty neat project, but you should call it what it is. It's a home made electric motor. All electric motors are 'magnetic motors,' and just like your motor, they all loose energy to friction, electrical resistance, and magnetic hysteresis. That said, motors are still cool, and magnets will always feel a little magical.
