Someone may just know, as I hear this song, it's tempo and feel reminds me of a song that came out in the mid to late 90's by a female group, and i'm sure it's called 'Tell Me' and in the chorus they sing 'tell me are you happy, do you feel the same way too', but it's not by Shades, and I only every heard the track on a white label with Changing Faces'-Ain't No Stoppin' This Groove' which i'm sure must have been out around the same time. Would appreciate if anyone could offer up suggestions tnx
Yess, these were sadly the last times that artist could really sing and perform like they feel to it, there seems no room for that anymore, cause ,all girl singers gotto undress first, and show lots of their, legs and behind for beeing seen to the public, ther selling themselves, the great media icoons suck them right up.. look at Keri Hilson,Nicole or Beyonce, can they compete with this with their pants back on ???
Pure Soul----gone, but never forgotten!! Too bad they were only a "one & done" group, they had the vocals chops that rivaled En Vogue's!! Even the two primary leads sounded like members of EV.
This was an interesting time because there were dozens upon dozens of girl groups getting play on BET's afternoon video shows. Now...you have to be on top before anyone even hears your voice. I mean that literally.
I had a crush on the lead singer while growing up. I use to try to date black women that looked like her/body type(short with red hair, with some talent and attitude). Some examples were Nia Long, T-Boz, Hally Berry.
My Cousin Haqq Islam executive produced them. I remember going with him out to DC seeing them perform in the BET Studios. Opening act for them was Dru Hill...they was about to drop...yeah big up to pure soul.
All these girls can sang just like En Vogue. Someone gave you a thumbs down, so I had to 1 up that. I totally agree with you. This CD was slammin' and deserved and still deserves recognition.
Wow, this brings me back to my childhood. I remember tuning into Soul Train on Saturday mornings and this song was playing on heavy rotation. They also performed on the show. This is giving me good memories of the time period this was out.
this jam gets into my veins. have it on a mix tape ,man did i work that R&B tape whenever i hook up with a new honey.*sigh* .. if that car could talk .(*)(*)
this was a great group. To bad they had bad management. Some people just cant see the big picture. The lead singer of this song still writes her own music. Very talented.

What another great female group of the 90's! I remember this song on Soul Train, one of many saturdays during my teen years during chores before going out to hang with friends. What happened to those days?!

Every song on their CD is good. It rivals as a body of work any of Envogue CDs.

Envogue is a supergroup no doubt. Pure Soul just dropped a great CD when look back at it. As you said, you have to give it props.

This song explains why the group is called "pure soul". A GREAT song that always recalls beautiful memories back in the early 90ies.
