It wasn't her turning him down that makes her the bad person or that made the majority of the fanbase mad, it was the fact that she jumped right into bed with Christopher...it was just terrible. The whole Christopher/Lorelai storyline was completely unnecessary, as was breaking up Luke and Lorelai. Season 7 was just a mess.

i think instead of them writing in that luke had a daughter and her sleeping with chris that they should've had her be pregnant, with twins, a boy and a girl- just like her dream. it would've made it so much more romantic and i think all the viewers would've liked it better

They're BOTH at fault! Luke pushed Lorelai away, yes - but after seeing Anna's reaction to Lorelai's presence at the party, it's obvious how he's caught between a rock and a hard place. Anna makes him choose between his fiancee and his daughter, a choice he shouldn't have to make! Lorelai was in the wrong for immediately going on the rebound and sleeping with Christopher but *he* was in the wrong for taking advantage of her in such an emotional state. In conclusion, nobody's innocent here.

It was Luke's fault she said "Marry me now or never" he said no...so she slept with Chris. Coming the next morning was a little too late.. lol. Lorelai can be a hypocite sometimes. When Lorelai hides stuff from Luke about Christopher she excpets for him to forgive her but when Luke hides something that is totally understandable and she can't take it. So it seems me that the only one who can hide stuff is her.

Then when she went over to Chris' house to comfort him she went to tell Luke about it, but Rory stopped her and told her that it would be best if he didn't know. Then Luke tells her that there will be no more secrets between the two, and then goes and pulls something like this. He is definitley the hypocrite.

Then Chris came to the wedding and Lorelai told Luke about it and Chris tried to win lorelai back and then luke broke up with her. Then when they were engaged and Chris left a message for Lorelai, Luke yelled at her for supposedly stayin in contact with him and said that they can't have anymore secrets.He is the hypocrit

except for the part about hiding in the diner (i agree that he didn't really want to marry her, but i think the reason he came was because he felt he had to, and when this car thing happened, he didn't have anyone "dear to him" to talk about it with, he needed to depend on someone) I agree with you on everything else. She shouldn't have slept with Chris (though i think her feelings as well as maybe some booze went into this) but Luke pushed her. So did Chris. Her guys always push her.

regards to telling each other the truth, if she had never told Luke, then the guilt of what she'd done would've eventually torn them apart, and if she decided to tell him the truth, even years down the line, then the issues of trust would've undoubtedly become a lot more prominent. This scene actually breaks my heart, it's so apparent that they both want exactly the same thing (each other) and the director, in my opinion, has done such a wonderful job of making the audience be sympathetic to Lorelai's feelings, simply because we are aware of what she's trying to tell him right through the scene - and hence we feel the pain that she feels at having to admit something that she full well knows will break his heart. Wow I noticed a hypocrisy on the show. It's apparently ok for Logan to sleep with chicks when he is upset but not ok when Lorelai sleeps with Chris. If Rory can forgive Logan then Luke should forgive Lorelai. Luke said he loved her soo much I mean really. It's not like Lorelai wanted to hurt him but underthe cicumstances if I was Luke I'd understand. When you are vulnerable you do stupid things. Chris is good in that one way.
