He recorded the first Foos album as solo project, all alone. Taylor's drumming, Chris & Pat's strumming, & Nate's.... Bassing make amazing additions, could never be any better than those 5. Taylor, Chris, Pat, & Nate's skill + Dave's skill, energy, and spirit = The greatest combination Man has ever seen.

Dave wanted to continue Nirvana with Pat and Kris but Kris decided that it was a bad idea to continue because they will get accused of selling out and using Kurt's death to get more famous.
