  • Wow...a very strange, but good song. I love it!!

  • amazing! both the video and the song!

  • bellissimo anche il video!

  • I agree on the surprised about not being 10X bigger than Lady Gaga. But what do you expect from people with eclectic taste....each of us has a preference on the type of music we like and the catagory/genre the industry puts the music in.

  • awesome! I love her music

  • I love her.

  • I think Norah looks great with that structured haircut. It's really great for her face type. :)

  • very interesting video

  • I wish my garage was this organized....and talented!!

  • Is this song about America?

  • @mattd624

I don't think so. It would seem to be more of an essay on life, living, and death - Nothing Gold Can Stay, and whatnot.

  • what kind of music is this? blues ?

    i <3 norah :)

  • Best song of the show yesterday at the Jazz Festival Montreux!

  • Awesome song <3

  • This song makes me soo happy I love Norah Jones wish she was my friend

  • The song is great, delicious and Norah is very cute, so pretty!

  • Just saw it on Austin City Limits, had to look the song up. The guy on trombone was awesome, and I swear Miss Jones gets cuter as she matures.

  • this viedeo inspied me so much!

  • Now this comes as a surprise... since I'd always seen her sitting behind a piano, I didn't know she was capable of movement.

Also, Soren's right - cutest mouse EVER!

  • Greatest trumpet ever!

  • ooo nice :)

  • fantastic

  • best song!!!

  • I like that Pulp Fiction haircut as well as the Lisa Loeb look in the dollhouse.

  • I wish Norah Jones would collaborate with M Ward again. I think he brings a lot to the table, and their styles go very well together.

  • Norah is looking fi-yee-yine.

By the way, according mvdbase, Ace Norton did this video. He is, er... an ace director. Check out The Mountain Goats video for Sax Rohmer #1 for more Ace goodness.

  • I always interpreted it as a reference to the state of the world, regarding the environment and other political issues.

Like, how we think we're so amazing, how civilized and advanced we are (sarcastic obviously), but we're still going to sink.

  • It's such a great song.

  • wtf?

  • why??

  • she's great and really pretty

  • Anybody know who did the video? It seems a bit Michel Gondry-ish. I love it!

  • @fiddlercrab3 norah jones did it.

  • HOW PROFOUND...

  • I'm a hip hop artist and I gotta say, Norah's one of my favorite artists to listen to. Very inspiring as a song writer, beautiful voice, and her connection to the music is amazing.

  • i always heard of norah jones but never heard her music. now i see why everyone is talking about her.

  • Can you guys give me an opinion of what this song is suppose to mean? I have some inkling about it, but I'm still unsure.

  • i mean, with all the descriptions of food i had the image of this fancy tea party and then when she talks about the captain who was too ashamed to admit he dropped the oar, it got me thinking about the titanic. so even tho it's probably not about the titanic specifically it's about a similar situation...being too self-righteous to admit that you're wrong, and then having to suffer for it. like, ppl who would rather live in denial than admit that they were wrong to save themselves.

  • Seems like it. I heard someone mention Bush and I didn't see the reference at all except with the pontoon. So perhaps there is more than one reference?

  • well, im not sure. id have to look up the lyrics again. but, depending on norah's politcal views, it could be about bush and the war, implying that we went in ill-prepared and that we were in it long after we lost. so there's really nothing to suggest that it's SPECIFICALLY about bush, but our situation in iraq could definitely fit within the bigger picture that this song demonstrates.

  • i listened once a version of this song with an intro where she said that this is a comedy about the Titanic and then started the song...:)

  • its just random about a sinking boat made of sticks and hay

  • She's actually talking about a relationship that didn't start off all that solid in the first place, and the boyfriend made a mistake and was too proud to admit it, so the relationship started sinking. All the things she says, the oyster cracker in the stew, the honey in the tea, the sugar cubes in the coffee, all symbolize how they are sinking fast.

  • Haha that was so weird! I love her , she's so cute, specially in that mouse outfit haha

  • she looks so cute in this video, I love the hair!

  • :-) awesome nessssssssssssssssss

  • I think this might be my favorite song of hers. I love the "ya ya" of the trumpet. She's got the prettiest voice of any singer out there.

  • this sounds like a tom waits song.

  • i love this song, and how it represents george w bush and the world right now.

  • wow never noticed before that this song could be about bush. regardless i love this song.

  • norah is amazing...as is this song

  • I like this one, too. I love Norah, even though I usually don't listen to this type of music. Her voice is beautiful.

  • i love this song

  • LOL!

  • TOO COOL!
