More information, South Korean TKD player are used KP&P product. They don't used LaJust in South Korea. Point 1) If her equipment wasn't allow then, they shouldn't have stopped her during the game and specially when she was winning.

Round Kick is using anterior part of foot. Axe Kick is using posterior part of foot. So sensor test may not catch the difference because player are test by round kick. If Yang shun-chen did the axe kick with extra sensor, she would get 18: 0. That's why she get disqualified. and this is not virtue of TKD player that act unfair for opponent. Yang Chun Chen was actually hide the secret weapon on hill.
The Secret of passing sensitive test is difference of round kick and axe kick. Yang chun-chen did the round kick for testing sensor. She was attempt to use it when she do the axe kick. LaJust engineer caught that Yang chun-chen attached the extra sensor on her hill. This extra sensor will bring advantage of sensitivity if Yang Chun-chen do axe kick. machine can not catch her idea but referee caught her plot.

I see and understand you are trying to keep this particular match within the scope of simple sports and try to tell taiwanese to keep korean out of this.

At the first press conference after the disqualification decision, when the Korean official was explaining the decision, the media from Taiwan was denied of translation for asking questions which results to all Taiwan press leaving the conference.
And the immediate second day, on the official website of the Asian Taekwondo Union headed by a Korean president and Korean head of secretary, it released statement of “Shocking act of deception from Chinese Taipei”. This rush judgment and inaccurate accusation was criticized by World Taekwondo Federation and the statement was removed.
After Taiwan’s appeal to Olympic Council of Asia, the council requested ATU to restart the investigation. Three officials from ATU, vice president of Thailand, deputy head of secretary of Iran, and one associate from Lebanon Taekwondo association were called to head the investigation.
While the vice president of Thailand explicitly apologized for ATU’s early rush action, the president of Korea, 李大淳 (Dai Soon Lee), deny his knowledge of ATU’s early accusation and do not express any apology for the organization’s action.
How should Taiwanese people feel about all these when one of the promising player and representatives are facing this situation? What sense is there for Korea to purposefully disqualify a Taiwanese taekwondo player if they weren't in it?? Korea already had second place of the whole competition. Also, the "Her feet are size 22.5, so there were no new-style protective socks for her. We only had the old style to give her" is not even an excuse. Why send a player without proper equipments to a competition? If they didn't have her size, then they should have specially ordered a new protective pair of socks.

@pjbnz Ovid Tseng in the TV program was saying Taiwanese need empathy and sympathy with creativity in Taiwanese education. I'm not so sure what they are exactly doing but this competition may not be all bad for both countries. Samsung and HTC both gained with Droid sales and people are attracted to competitions just like TKD match and they will buy from the top competitors.

People are attracted to competitions and choose between the top competitors. This is not bad for us. I still have problem with anger issues of Taiwan. Taiwan was angry at Samsung for cutting them off supplies of super AMOLED for their HTCs. They were expecting to make money off selling Samsung products with their brand name. That's why they are really mad and this event became a perfect opportunity to vent their anger.

Yang's outdated LaJust brand shoes are allowed only in training session. Asian Game committee changed the rule that all of TKD player must wear new type of LaJust shoes. More information, South Korean TKD player are used KP&P product. They don't used LaJust in South Korea. China and Iran used this product since 4 years ago. and they insisted WTF to use LaJust than KP&P. Whatever gear she wear it or bring on the sensor testing time. She must not bring the unauthorized outdated shoes.

WFT committee called all teams TKD leader that any of against rule and using unauthorized by WTF in Asian game will get punished immediately. They warn this 2 days before the Yang's Match. The reason of disqualification had been changed 3 times. Extra sensors had been the official reason once, but it is not now, OK? And, if it were fair to disqualify Yang, the reason wouldn't be changed again and again. Each time, the reason was found to be invalid in the video, the official reason was changed to another one. It also shows that Liang, Hong, and Chao are liars when comparing the video and what they said.

regardless, her equipment passed inspection by WTF judges before the match and inspection by the opposing side. if she wore illegal equipment then the match should have been called off before or even early in the match, not when theres 12 seconds to go and she's leading 9-0...

Here is two way to look at this problem.
Point 1) If her equipment wasn't allow then, they shouldn't have stopped her during the game and specially when she was winning.
Point 2) Or She was a cheater who somehow passed the first equipment checking and got caught on the second.
Don't burn the flag because of this. And I heard the one who stopped the match was Chinese Ref. Refs are not only Koreans in Tae-Kwon-Do. Even she loves Tae-kwon-do and it is her sport. Don't burn or hate the sports.

Round Kick is using anterior part of foot. Axe Kick is using posterior part of foot. So sensor test may not catch the difference because player are test by round kick. If Yang shun-chen did the axe kick with extra sensor, she would get 18: 0. That's why she get disqualified. and this is not virtue of TKD player that act unfair for opponent. Yang Chun Chen was actually hide the secret weapon on hill.

The Secret of passing sensitive test is difference of round kick and axe kick. Yang chun-chen did the round kick for testing sensor. She was attempt to use it when she do the axe kick. LaJust engineer caught that Yang chun-chen attached the extra sensor on her hill. This extra sensor will bring advantage of sensitivity if Yang Chun-chen do axe kick. machine can not catch her idea but referee caught her plot.

First of all, like I said, I don't stand behind the act of burning flag, but I have certain degree of sympathy for them. And, I am not sure if you have a good grasp of the entire situation. I see and understand you are trying to keep this particular match within the scope of simple sports and try to tell taiwanese to keep korean out of this.

Yes, of course it is possible if the whole incidence had been handled differently, and I am referring particular to how the officials had handled it. At the first press conference after the disqualification decision, when the Korean official was explaining the decision, the media from Taiwan was denied of translation for asking questions which results to all Taiwan press leaving the conference.

This rush judgment and inaccurate accusation was criticized by World Taekwondo Federation and the statement was removed.

After Taiwan’s appeal to Olympic Council of Asia, the council requested ATU to restart the investigation. Three officials from ATU, vice president of Thailand, deputy head of secretary of Iran, and one associate from Lebanon Taekwondo association were called to head the investigation.

You are asking Taiwan to keep the Korean’s involvement out of this, but the simple sports event (like you wished) has evolved and escalated to an incident that prompt the international affair department of Taiwan to get involved due to a series of mistreatments and wrong handling by the ATU leading officials.

We should all stop blaming the South Koreans. They DID NOT BENEFIT from any of this. The Chinese simply used a corrupt FORMER South Korean (he is now Filipino) to lie and cheat. It is the Chinese athlete that won the gold medal. The Chinese are hiding behind the ATU / WTF and making it appear as South Korea's doing. What sense is there for Korea to purposefully disqualify a Taiwanese taekwondo player if they weren't in it?? Korea already had second place of the whole competition. Also, the "Her feet are size 22.5, so there were no new-style protective socks for her. We only had the old style to give her" is not even an excuse. Why send a player without proper equipments to a competition? If they didn't have her size, then they should have specially ordered a new protective pair of socks.

This happens too often. Games are supposed celebrate individuals not countries. But politics always is involved and powerful countries dominate weaker ones by cheating. Korea got screwed by USA (Ohno 2002, Hamm 2004, China 2010 speedskating), and Taiwan is getting screwed by China here...

You think “Korea had been damaged as unfair in a long time too,” but I think Taiwan had been damaged as this kind of unfair more than Korea. Just a Korean-Filipino who are Philippines. He is not an official Korean nationality.
And World Taekondo Federation stated that
"While we asked to equipment examiners, they said that Taiwan player correctly didn't wear the illegal old type sensor patch, but she suddenly wore it just before the game, So we lately suspected that she was trying to a fake in the game."
Generally official game rule is very STRICT.
Korea had been damaged as unfair in a long time too.

@nachtnite: We blame on Korea because the man (appeared on 0:29 in this video) who wore black tuxedo is a Korean. If you have already seen the full version, he stopped the match and asked that Philippine referee took those “2 already-take-off sensors” to him and claimed that Yang was disqualified.

@nachtnite He is a Korean but has Philippine citizenship. Otherwise, in 11/18/2010, ATU posted an article called "Shocking Act of Deception by Chinese Taipei" on its official website which is an inappropriate declaration and hurt Taiwanese feeling. Although ATU had already deleted that post, you can google it online.

The official big game's rule is very strict. It's not depended on a bias side view which is written by a reporters anyway.
The fact is while she took a equipment examination, she didn't wear it correctly, but all of a sudden, she wore it just before game started.
So the game committee thought that she was trying to fake the referees.
There are lots of feelings mistreated and unfair on big games, but you know, big game's rule is very strict. and only the Taiwan players did fault.

@nachtnite First off I want to say that I don't agree with what some Taiwanese are doing which is burning flags and stuff like that because that is wrong. I also understand that the World Taekwondo Federation released an official statement saying that Yang Shu-Chun wore "old sensors". However, if you are willing to search for the video "楊淑君 (Yang Shu Chun) is Innocent!!" you can see that Yang didn't cheat. But I agree that the Korean bashing is out of line and not helpful.
