text is niet zo sterk maar de muziek is zoooooo ontzettend goed.

ik herinner me nog een intervieuw toen ze dit nummer uitbrachten. veel kritiek omdat het leek op zelfmoord. maar het werd toch een hit.

I saw this brilliant pop group on the schoolparty (!) end sixties. They were not as famous althoug this song was already in the hitparade.

greattunesking:never forget when i started getting my promo singles from the radio stations in 1968 on thru 1974.in 1970 i found a promo single on elektra records.down man/womans gone.i played the vynil single of down man so many times that the black vynil turned white.at that time in 1970 and to this minute i still love kaz lux voice and the song itself is a timeless masterpiece.i was 18 then.i am 56 now.GET DOWN MAN!!

Here in the States, my friends and I were totally into Jan Akkerman back in the day. In one year Melody Maker voted him best elecrtic guitarist in the world, and then he outbid the Museum of London for some prized, centuries-old Lute tablatures which he wanted to learn! He was probably the first guitarist who was a world-class elecrtric player but also very fluent in nylon-string classical and Baroque styles. A bit like Al DiMeola, and five years earlier. Simply brilliant!

Basis lick: A snaar 5e fret, bend release pull off 3e fret dan D snaar 5e fret.

verder solo's in A; C5 Bb Am7 en er schijnt ook nog iets met de D snaar op het 13e fret te zijn

Vorig weekend heb ik de muziek ontdekt. Ik word aan het einde van de maand 35. Ik had wel van de naam gehoord en dat Jan Akkerman erin speelde. Ik kocht bij V&D The Very Best BRAINBOX Album Ever. En de grap is dat ik meteen dit nummer herkende van een reclame of een televisieprogramma. :o)#

Such a golden combination this was...Akkerman and Lux! Do you realize its 40 years old? Keith Richards and Clapton where still rehearsing the basic blueschops back then. Akkerman should had been famous at that time already instead of the plingplong thingy from Clapton who hitted the strings right - sometimes - by accident haha.

Akkerman was in a complete different league already. Its a pitty the world did'nt realize this by then. That was because everybody thougt that only the Brits could plong.

Clapton had in 1969 al de Yardbirds, John Mayall en Cream gehad, dus om,zoals dhr.Perothing schrijft,de man als een 2e rangs klungel af te schilderen, is wat overdreven.En Keith Richards is nog nooit door iemand als een topgitarist beschouwd.Jan had andere problemen en is daarom nooit internationaal doorgebroken.Hij bleef wereldberoemd in Nederland.

Je neemt me de woorden uit de mond. Niet alleen toen, maar anno nu nog steeds geweldig, zeker in vergelijking met wat "het hedendaagse geluid" ons te 'bieden' heeft. Armoe troef, ondanks de technische vooruitgang.

@MrSunshine58 helemaal mee eens, goed gezegd.. tegenwoordig draait het alleen maar om wie de mooiste videoclip kan maken..technische vooruitgang betekent in de muziek idd geen verbetering..kijk maar naar al die verrotte gangstaraps van hedentendaage..allemaal labelized crap en rotzooi.
