  • When I was 6 I saw this.I needed to see this 3 times 4 it to click but I remember now.I think I had a crush on her.A fun littel tune

  • Annette is a doll, but I'd rather hear our boys play on their own, as usual.

  • If only Annette had done an LP with the Beach Boys........

  • @MarkinDC Annette had the perfect voice for singing those surfin songs! I have her 1965 Lp "Annette Sings Golden Surfin' Hits", She could have done better on her version of "Surf City", but the rest was great! She would have been a perfect match to sing with the Beach Boys!!

  • LMFAO!

  • As corny as those beach movies were, I still loved them.

  • This tune rocks!

  • just goes to show the beach boys can make anything sound good. I love all these silly stupid movies of annette and the beach movies too. so bad their good.

  • This is from a Walt Disney film called "The Monkey's Uncle" released in 1965. It starred Tommy Kirk and Annette Funicello. This is the title song.

  • Does it get any more stupid than this. And yet...the innocence and combo of Annette and the Boys is intoxicating. Never saw this before . . .unreal.

  • lol i remember seeing this all the time when i was little lol i thought annette was so pretty i wished to be like her??lol

  • Lame song.

  • hmmm I am a BB fan but what bout this song?

Never heard or read bout this one.

    From some movie?

  • no black folks...come to think of it i never saw any blacks except in cameo

  • can't believe anyone posted this ... I totally love annette and that is great...

  • Why you want to be a monkeys uncle?

You are a girl you can be a aunt.

  • Heh...

Quite funny, but I think Annette is so cute whatever she does. Reminds me of a lost love of mine.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Astro Joe

  • Your balloon comments were really funny!

    Haha, just kidding :(

  • Great to see Meryl and Al Pacino in their early roles...Walt was a great talent-spotter!

  • Hey, I was kidding!

  • doh!!!!...lol

  • I'd wager that's a Glen Campbell guitar solo. He played on most of the BB's sessions about this time and played most of their guitar solos.

  • Cute song.

  • This was the last Disney movie Annette made, circa 1965.

  • I guess the one question that comes to mind is, how many of the original Beach Boys are still around?

  • 2 Brian and Mike stadalberts

  • ncarolinaluv: Thanks, I thought there were still 3 left.

  • stad -- really miss My Carl and Denny!

  • I was wrong -- believe Al, Brian and Mike are the only ones. Miss My Carl -- Denny was cool, too. The live version of The Beach Boys Forever is my fav Denny song.

  • Mike Love ans almost-original memeber Bruce Johnston still tour using the name The Beach Boys. Al Jardine , David Marks and Brian Wilson are still alive. Dennis drowned in 1984. Carl died in 1998. JHP

  • The best part of "The Monkey's Uncle" was this opening sequence. Singing with Annette in a Walt Disney film, The Beach Boys established themselves here as 'America's Band.'

  • There is another uncut version currently available. To get to it, just type in "The Monkey's Uncle" and several different versions will appear, including The uncut "Annette" version (with of course the Beach Boys)

  • You cut off the beginning. I have the entire opening footage though.

  • I got what i could, about 14 years ago.hahaha

  • can you upload the missing part?

  • with the aggressiveness of the copyright lawyers now, that may not be a wise idea. I included it in my Beach Boys videography which is 116 videos in chronological order from 1962 - 2007. I submitted it to Brother Records.

  • How do I get to see this videography?

    {Rare Beach Boys Video Channel -Click BB45s}

  • If I did, Most likely YouTube would remove it due to copyright infringements. Other wise I have 116 Beach Boys music videos I could upload. I do NOT want to end up in court of jail.

  • come mark share

  • I sent 2 copies to Brother Records (The Beach Boys own label) Due to the fact that I do NOT own copyrights to about 90 percent of the material, I can't distribute it. I have been trying to push Brother to see what they can do with it. It is in chronological order from 1962 - 2007. Including solo material when it came out.

  • mark,i have posted some qustionable material

but what the hell, all they wil say is stop

  • Or close your account and file legal action. I have seen that happen to a fellow Beach Boys board poster. I don't want my account in jeopardy.

  • Fear not. The stereo version is available on a Disney compilation cd. I downloaded it a month ago.

  • awesome

  • The Swim was the hot new dance at that time.

Besides The Swim/The Beach Boys/Surfer movie....works for me.

  • So why aren't they dancing The Monkey? I think that was the first dance I learned!!

  • hum its a nice song the beat and the singing is great. the lyrics though are a bit odd but still very nice thank you for posting it.

  • That was way out!

  • This song is really good.....ecspecaily with the beach boys!!!

  • The audio version I have is on Classic Disney Volume I (Walt Disney Records 1995). Where else can the audio or video be found publically?

  • I have a great version on Annettes greatest hits

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!

  • Your very welcome, my pleasure

  • Genius!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Disappointed with the audio? Do a search for PPG: The Monkey's Uncle

and you'll find the exact same recording, only crisp and clear. First, turn down the sound on this one. Then open a 2nd window, find the PPG clip, turn up the sound on that one and start it. The moment it hits 24 seconds, start this one so they're synchronized...and enjoy!

  • Yes This song is soooooo cool in stereo, annette is on one side and The Beach boys on the other, I am so glad everybody enjoys this clip!

  • Enjoy? Put it this way, If I come home from an especially hard day at work, I watch this and it puts a smile on my face!

It's apparent Annette had so much fun with everything she was in because it shows. I enjoy watching many things a lot more if the participants are having a ball!

Thank you SO MUCH for this clip!

  • This is just so cool!

To see Annette - who is an absolute doll anyway - singing and dancing "The Monkey's Uncle" with the Beach Boys is wild! I'd buy this movie just to have these beginning minutes. But I don't think it's available in DVD.

  • View any video featuring "Annette" and you will see numerous responces from men dreaming of this lovely lady, and it's justly deserved. I'm one of them. I only hope Annette herself has seen some of these comments. The WORLD still loves our favorite Mouseketeer! XOXOXO Annette!

  • Annette looks like Snow White!!! This is a fantastic song and I wish that there were more video versions of it. As silly as this song sounds, it kicks ass over most of today's "hits".

  • they are featuring the monkeys uncle!

  • This song would be a great cover for San Francisco's Barbary Coasters (if it isn't already).

  • This is so cute! Annette has such energy, I love her doing the swim with Mike Love. She doesn't just stand there, she moves! I like her pep!

  • fun song!

  • I love this! I bought the movie only because I wanted to see them sing and dance together! Thanks for posting! I've been searching for Monkey's Uncle and didn't find it until I searched "annette beach boys!"

  • I love this clip, the Beach Boys looked so fucking cool and Dennis was the epitomy of cool, rest his soul.

  • This song is brilliant!!

  • I used to believe Dennis absolutely had it all in every way. The kind of guy you would fantasize being. He's an example that 'having it all' was an illusion.

  • Thanks for the replys, I read a article where they asked annette about the beach boys and all she could say was "dennis was a killer diller"

  • This is really cool to see. I haven't seen that scene since I was a kid. Went to the theater just to see the Beach Boys. I didn't really care about Annette - but I appreciate her more now.

    Whoever posted this thanks!

  • oh man...this is great. I've had the single for years since I found it in a charity shop, but never seen the footage I knew would be inevitable. Interestingly, there is NO mention of The Beach Boys on the record or picture sleeve, and in the credits here, it says 'the monkeys uncle' sung by the beach boys, with no mention of Annette...odd-
