  • From a fellow Maritimer(living inUK last 10 Years). loved your journal ideas, your wonderful stories, and of course your famillar accent. You alway put Heart in your projects. Thanks for sharing

  • @111route Thank you so much.....accent? I don't have an accents, teehee.

I would love to go to the UK :)

  • Love your journal. I really like how you left room for pictures also. My mom and sisters are taking a "girl" trip this spring. I want to make one for each of us to journal our trip together. Thank you sharing.

  • @dsmaredd Thank you so much. So sweet of you to make them for all of you. You will not be disappointed that you did :)

Enjoy your girls trip...they are the best type ;)

  • Hello Tracy, I really loved your travel journal very much. I had a question, what type of glue did you use to stick all those hotel card envelops etc? also did you do most of the things in the journal on your trip ? I really liked your journal and am inspired to do one of my own on our next vacation. TFS.

    Hugs

    Sangeeta.

  • @SelfMusicArt Thank you so much Sangeeta :)

I used the red tacky tape to hold the envelopes on there. It is a good strong tape.

I did do most of the book during our trip. I may have been a day behind though. I did do a video on how I organized my book. You should check out that video as well, hopefully it will give your some tips on how to organize Before you go :)

  • Where do you get the trip ticks (sp?) from! Great idea!

  • @wishupondreams The trip tics come from CAA. We are a member of this and you get them free when you go on a trip. Not sure where you are from, but they are like AAA in the States. Its for road side assistance and such.

  • i am really sorry to annoy you like this but is it OK if i use a normal lon note book for the journal??? and I am still working on my album! I AM REALLY SORRY TO ANNOY YOU....... :)

  • @TheCHiZziES I want to assure you, you are not annoying me. I love to answer your questions.

As for the normal note book, yes any book will do. I just happen to have that one on hand. Use what every you have. I would just check the binding.

The book I used had perferated pages. So that is another reason why I added the pattern paper like I did. As I didn't want my pages falling out of the book.

  • luKss soo pretty! ur handwrittin is rly nice! u r vry skiled at photography too!!! -3 it!!!!!

  • @TheCHiZziES Thank you so much. As for my handwriting I have never liked it as I think it is primary, lol. I write real big, but then again as I get older and my sight is going, I can still read it, lol.

My family is really good at photography, me...not to much. But I get to use any of their pictures I want, teehee.

  • Hello Tracy, I really liked your journal. I had seen smash journal's but didn't know if I liked them. Now I want to try one. Thanks for showing us. You did a great job hope mine looks as nice. I am glad you and your family made that final trip for your Dad. It is important to honor our parents wishes.

  • Hi Tracy!!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your journal!! Did you create the actual book, binding and all? If so, do you have a video on how you did that?? I would LOVE to learn how to make a book like this! :) You did a FABULOUS job!

  • @495charlene Thank you so much for your comment :) I did not make the actual book. I bought it at Staples (a local office supply store) a few years ago. I have others like this that I use for my sketch layouts and layouts.

  • Tracy this is just stunning and you had me in tears. I just lost my dad last year and you brought back so many family memories. My Grandma was from Scotland and grew up in Red Lodge, Montana. I unfortunately have never visited either. Thanks for sharing!

    Hugs~

    Dana

  • @dlc8405 Thank you so much Dana. Sorry it made you cry :(

I am so sorry for your loss. I would love to go to Scotland...maybe some day.

  • @JBLdyScrapper48 Thank you :) The plan was to finish the page for that day, every night. Well that didn't work for me, but my daughters pages were all completed each night we got back to the hotel...funny thing is she didn't want enything to do with this project, lol.

  • Totally get that. Montana does that for ya. Ha ha. Plus you were all doing something wonderful.

  • That top post card from Glacier is my favorite spot in the world. I can't stress that enough! LOL the wall of tears. That is what the Indians called it. Glasgow Montana is the spot where Custer is. Did you know that is where the battle ground and you drove right by it? Interesting huh?

  • @whimsicalendeavors Thank you so much Pea :) I loved this trip, it was so calming, does that make sense? Even though we were up at 5:00am most mornings, and drove on average 8 hours. It was so nice.

  • Great journal for a special trip! I collected stuff all summer I really need to smash it now into a book. TFS!

  • @canadianscrappergirl Thank you. Yes I think you need to smash away ;)

  • What an amazing travel journal, I really enjoyed listening to all your stories and liked how you incorporated so much of your travel memorabilia into it. That page that you titled "My Last Errand" did it for me (crying like a baby), I loved how appropriate the title was. A book of memories to last forever, thanks for sharing them with all of us.

  • @KimScrapper Thank you so much. That was an emotional page for me, but I felt I needed to put it in the journal, as that was the main purpose of our trip.

  • i adore your travel journal, stunning and so many beautiful memories, i am so sorry for your loss and im so glad you made such a lovely trip out of such sadness! great job as always tracy x x x x

  • @craftylollypop Thank you so much. I really appreciate your comment :)

  • Stunningly wonderful travel journal Tracy! Thanks so much for sharing your travels, your family and your beautiful memories. I love looking at people's travel journals. They are so inspiring and it's interesting to see what people consider important enough to document. I love that you document everything! Too cool! Blessings to you, Carolyn

  • @carolynsfo Thank you Carolyn. I really enjoyed putting this together. It is like a mini scrapbook page, with memorabilia gathered from our trip.

  • tracey i love it..i am collecting all the stuffs that you are collecting when i travel but i only incorporate it on my 12x12 layout. you give me a good idea of doing it this way like a diary, where you put the time and weather and add so many journaling so when you look back there are so many things that u can remember about the trip. you give me an idea as well of keeping what the plates says about the place...love it - leilani

  • @tewtami Thank you Leilani :) I want to save and document everything. But we all know there isn't enough time in our travels to do this. I found this book perfect for this. I still have things left over that I didn't use, lol.

  • Love it!!!

  • @gvnikki Thank you :)

  • Great job on this journal, love all the sweet tidbits you added throughout the album. Our family has gone to Montana to visit Yellowstone Park, and of course we went to Lewis & Clark caverns. So much fun, love the "tick, sliver, rock" story! ;p

I send my sympathy for the loss of your dad. You were twice blessed with your dads! Take care and thanks for sharing, Sybil

  • @JandSib80 Thank you so much Sybil. I love how you put that, I was very blessed to have 2 dad's that both loved me.

As for sharing the tick, sliver, rock story....there were some other stories that I didn't share that were equally funny or unusual.....but thats my family, lol

  • Oh my word.. I don't question your love for your Dad. THAT'S CLEAR!.. But how did you get through without choking up?! I was choking up and had tears in my eyes almost as soon as your video BEGAN! I most definitely enjoyed looking at this with you, and I'm SURE your father is beaming with happiness from Heaven above, knowing his loved ones took this trip, carried out his last wish, and celebrated his memory in the way you did! • I really like your travel journal. You don't see it compete very often. Great ideas!!!! My husband & I want to go to Montana some day, we are from Texas. Condolences to you.... Take care, Darlene

  • @59darlene Thank you Darlene. I would encourage you to go. The views of the mountains are breathtaking. There is so much to see and do, we only had a week and we live so far from there, that we were limited on what we did.

  • Hi Tracy, Thank you for subbing to my YT. My mom received the gift I made for her and she was overwelmed and very happy. I really enjoy making it for her. Tracy, Your jounrnal has inspired me, My daughter turned 21 yesterday and I'm going to prepare a journal with your idea in mind and send it to her with pens, tags, and tickets so she can fill it in. She attends college out of state. Take care Big hug o Maria

  • @MsMaria990 Thank you Maria.

Your daughter will cherish the journal that you make for her.

Let me know if you post a video of it, I would love to see it :)

  • Fabulous job keeping track of your trip to remember, looks wonderful! tfs (thanks for the tips too!) hugs, Kimberly

  • @FaerieTalesWithPaper Thanks Kimberly :) Hope you can use the tips :)

  • I love your journal, I also liked the way you talked about your memories from the trip, it helps to know what kinds of things to include in a travel journal. I so want to go on a trip now :)

    Jen

  • @jen4524 Thanks Jen. After I was finished taping, I realized I talked to much about the actual trip and not so much about the journal workings. But then again I made this channel to document my craft and this was a special project. So thank you for validating this :)

  • Very cool memoir Tracy! Love your story about your dad and how you all went as a family to fulfill his wishes :) TFS!

    Brigitte

  • @shoeprincess1 Thank you Brigitte. It was a trip I won't ever forget.

  • Hi Tracy!

I really enjoyed watching this video! I love your travel journal and you did a great job capturing all the memories! Please accept my condolences, I know you made your Dad proud! I too love to scope out all the scrapbooking stores and I save the business cards too! I found a neat product that you might be interested in.. its from Avery office supply. It a clear plastic pocket with flaps so you can close it, it is self adhesive so you can stick it right on your page.. So cool! Tina

  • @topcropper Thank you for your condolences Tina.

I will have to check out those avery pockets, they sound like something I should have on hand.

  • wow! a lot of work but at the end .....beautiful!, congratulation!

  • @sogua2000 Thank you so much. If I would have kept up with it nightly (like I had planned) it would have been so much easier.....but easy isn't in my nature, lol.

  • Hi Tracy. Love your Travel Journal. Great idea. Going to give it a try. Hugs from New York. xo Maria

  • @MsMaria990 Thank you Maria. I would love to see what you come up with for your travel journal.

  • How perfect did this travel journal turn out? I like the format the best of all of the memory keepers. You could probably just use one journal for each trip and the title could be the trip. I think I would be afraid of losing this trip's memories if I took the book out for another weeks journey. You did a fabulous job of keeping track of each day.

  • @RobinCraig1 Thank you so much Robin, you do have a point in keeping this one book about this trip.

  • Your dad would be so happy for you and your family. What great memories to take from something that could be so sad. Thank you for sharing your travels as well as tips and ideas on the travel journal. I have one started and now feel inspired to get to it and journal my heart out. It was also funny to see that I'm not the only one who shops at craft stores on my vacations, lol.

  • @lovintutorials Thank you so much. As emotional as parts of this trip were, I was so thankful that we shared it as a family and did it like we did.

I am sure we are not the only ones to shop at craft stores along the way :)
