  • The real problem why enough is not being done to educate the young and vunerable people who go into porn is because of people like Shelley Lubben. Using religion and the bible to get your anti-porn views across will just instantly fall on deaf ears and be dismissed straight away by the vast overwhelming majority of these young women. Shelley is really just using religion to garner a christian following who will repeatedly donate money to her. A self serving monetary-gaining agenda.

  • I am not & have never been a Christian. Yet I enjoy Shelley's speeches & videos. Who are those "people like Shelley"?

You are making a grand statement here: "The real problem"...do you have any sources to back yourself up? How do you know she lives on Christians' donations? And why can't you see the validity of her information, only because she is a Christian and you are not? I think you're distracting from the problem. And I see quite clearly that YOU deny possibly being part of the problem.

  • People like Shelly are the radical religious groups who use their faith to put forward their anti-porn messages and there are plenty of them. I don't deny the validity of information Shelley gives out regarding porn...its good information but since she bases her whole campaign around religion that information is not reaching the overall audience tht it should be....only the religious ones which are very very few when it comes to people who work in the porn industry.....

  • Shelley gets paid for all her big church speeches and her MTV deals. You might want to check out the email exchange she had with a porn star called Taryn Thomas where she tried to get her to quit porn and go on the MTV show with her with a money offer of course, started off nice but when she was turned down she became spiteful and threatened to potray her negitivly in mainstream media. You can find this email by google search. Shelly never denied this email conversation....

  • ....I am not against the christian community but I do not like the way she is exploiting it for her own benefit. She is not focused on trying to save porn actresses, only the ones who she can "convert" to her religious beliefs so they can make a story out of it....on video naturally. She claims to have helped over 40 people out of porn, yet only shows about 4 of them...all who have now "seen the light" and are with God now.

  • All her stuff is pretty much targeted at the religious community.....this is because they are a united community who are going to benefit her most through her site donations. And what exactly is this money going on? Its sure not all 4 people she resucued form porn over the last 3 years (out of the thousands and thousands of people who go into porn each year) and surely not the small website she runs. Its all for self-profit. She is not a good example of a genuine anti-porn activist.

  • @rubix7k I was reading big book on alcholics anonymous and they guy in that said Who am I to say there is no god. The 12 step program is all about having a higher power. As someone who bought alot of porn, I personally found she talks alot of sense and was part of reason that I changed my view.

  • If we just made all porn illegal, all of a sudden we would have an unregulated underground industry. Porn stars are required to have regular health exams, they have agents and representation. Take that away and we have people getting together in secret, selling their movies on the black market, with no limits in regards to what they can contain.

  • The first video ever on yt that made me absolutely sick but gets 5 stars and favorited. I fully support this channel!

  • WarRogers: Thanks a ton for your awesome comment & your support!!! ❤❤❤ for you! :)

  • No problem, CPC... you still sound delicious btw .. lol

  • I don't think it's up to the government to impose laws on what consenting adults can and can't engage in within the boundaries of the law. It's up to the individual to show restraint and avoid things that are potentially destructive. If you know someone who has wrecked their relationship with a porn addiction, don't go complaining to congress. It's the person's fault.

  • a) There are many illegal things that adults consent to doing.

    b) Consent is not a black & white issue.

  • I'm not referring to illegal things. The professional porn industry is not like the underground sex trade. People have to really WANT to do this for a living. There are auditions, interviews, etc.

  • Osias: Are you reading what you wrote?

    a) "Imposing laws" on porn, hence involving illegal status to some extent, can still involve consenting adults participating it it. In such case, they'd be engaging in potentially illegal activities. Real life example: Prostitution.

    b) Countless testimonials by prostitutes & porn actors testify that those asked DON'T WANT to do this for a living. Point remains: Lots of grey area around 'freedom to choose'.

  • Nobody wants to be a prostitute, and when I was talking about laws , I meant the concept of making the entire industry illegal. Of course nobody grows up aspiring to be a porn star, just like nobody grows up wanting to be a stripper. It ultimately boils down to money. Not all of these actors enjoy what they do, but they still choose to do it. Demanding that we take away their right to decide is just a way of saying we're too weak to control ourselves and avoid porn.

  • The point I'm trying to make here is that blaming failed relationships, twisted mentalities and other effects on the porn industry is just like blaming drug dealers for a person's addiction. Sure, the drugs were made available, but who chose to do them? I believe that the responsibility lies with the individual to not promote or support the industry itself. If nobody supports it, then it will die out.

  • Oasias, fair enough. This I agree with. Only when consumers realize the issues around porn, doing such jobs will become less desirable.

I meant though that "auditions & interviews" don't prove that someone chooses to do a certain task / profession purely based on rationale (as opposed to deep-seated emotional influences). Especially in a high-risk (physically AND emotionally) area like the sex trade.

  • True, auditions and interviews don't mean the people go in there keen on what they're doing, but at least it's safe. The sex trade is something different. When I say "sex trade" I mean prostitution and other illegal activities.

  • good people need to wake up to the evil of porn. stop the abuse of young girls too because that can lead them to make wrong choices in life-often into arms of abusive men, stripping, then porn, then often drugs, etc... our society right now is ruled by people who don't care, some are even thugs themselves.

  • "When I ask men who are sex addicts if they would want their wife or daughter to be in porn,100 percent say,'No.' They want it to be someone else's wife/daughter.They know this material is damaging" - Dr. Mary Anne Layden

Very true. And that's why porn/prostitution and all sex related trades were very little under patriarchy, before feminism. A woman is always some men's daughter/sister/mother/wife and they'd do anything to protect her, which they did. Now they can't even if they want to.

  • Will you please expand on your point regarding patriarchy vs. porn, and feminism vs. porn?

  • Its guys like you that need to really wake up

  • Another amazing video masterpiece by the wonderful JoinPornBusters channel! :-)

Seriously, this is an excellent compilation of extremely high impact, well referenced and effective quotes, which undeniably show the harsh truth of pornography and prostitution for the horrific exploitation and abuses that they are.

Everyone should watch this video and learn from it, so needless to say I will be sharing this with as many people as possible.

Once again, very well done! Five stars as always! :-)

  • Porn Busters?! Are they like the Ghost Busters? I'll join. As long as I can use my Protein Pack.
