For all the complaints about making fun of the Titanic's dead passengers and crew, I think its important to remember that most of the movie wasn't really true. Captain Smith, for example, was seen helping people into capsized life boats and was seen swimming in the water after the ship sunk.

@lionel21000 actually that wasn't confirmed either, james cameron chose the best possible scenario for captian smith. i don't agree with you when you say most of the film, well obviously its not going to be 100% accurate considering jack and rose are fictional!

@fourzones Most of the inaccuracies are about the titanic's officers. Quite a few people in the UK are upset about how they are portrayed. There were even some protests before the movie was released and james cameron refused to adjust it. He said that "he picked the story that was the most appealing". That really doesn't inspire confidence. Google and read a bit about it.
