It's funny now that I've been learning Spanish I can understand why there are so many differences in her Spanish and English versions, some things can be hard if not impossible to translate, it literally gets lost in translation. :)

I thought this video was funny. I am a Shakria fan but I think that a little harmless joking around is okay. As Shakria has progress musically I find her song easier to understand but part of why it is hard is that she will use unusual analogies that are not what one would expect from pop music. I think this make her a more applying pop artists but that's me.

As a gay Colombian deaf guy, and also a fan of Shakira, i think this was just hysterical though i agree with you diego. I speak english and spanish and even American sign language...and she did it and anyone can do it too if you make an effort to

Funny how people think this is too far for Mad TV, it's just comedy after all (which encompasses all celebrities). If you don't like it, then don't watch it, simple as that... I thought it was pretty funny myself...

It's also funny cause it's true. I'm a huge fan of Shakira, but I gotta say her English songs aren't always understandable and I need to read the lyrics (if it's a new song) cause I don't understand what she says.

@houndour228 I don't know it this makes you feel better: In Spanish is the same. It's the way she sings. A few months ago, I just could comprehend what she says in "Pies Descalzos" (A very old song). It's her style.

@houndour228 Spanish, and yours? I've been following Shakira since 15 years ago or so. I just had to search the lyrics for "Lo hecho está hecho" (Spanish version of Did it again) because I wasn't able to understand what she was singing.

@Lithiumgb maybe it's your listening. I am a native spanish speaker. I ve been listenign to shakira since i was 9 (im 23 now) and I can perfectly understand everything she sings in spanish. Yeah her voice is kinda weird but thats about it, there's nothing wrong with the way she sings in terms of pronunciation. So I find it weird that you cant understand her.

@TVGian2009 If some people understand her Spanish just fine, and others don't, then I don't think it's Shakira's fault. I started listening to her when I was around 12. I'm 24 now and I've never had issues with her Spanish, just with her English.

I watched the new Shakira video clip and it was a load of crap. It gives me so much satisfaction to see these guys taking the piss out of her. I think this would sell more copies than the real Shakira version.

this is funny and not offensive at all.. but what I always found funnier is how people who are notoriously know for not being able to speak a second, third or, forth language make fun of those who can... accent is just an accent ; example; British, Texan, Boston, New Yawk, etc. now knowledge.... that is a whole different ball game... she has an accent but she can speak the language very well...
