i have one of this... i wasn't much of a fan of the G1 Smokescreen but i liked the design from my 1st TF Energon (Starscream) comic booklet i was astonished and besides that mode won like in the WRC... on 04 (when i bought it)that caught my eye

Finally, someone who do the transformation step-by-step without disassembling the unit nor skim through steps.

About the arms, you should rotate it such that the the wheels face you, then move the hands to point upwards, then rotate it around again, and it will be right side up without the stub getting stuck or the arm popping off.

I have a similar one, but it's the Binaltech one. The Alternator version is made by Hasbro...it does look good but seeing as you're a toy collector, fan of transformers and die cast cars, spring for the die cast binaltech one. It'll cost about $40 more, but in car mode even up close it looks like a regular die cast car. btw, the head pops out of the hood scoop, not air intake. good job in correcting yourself about the intercooler gun.

Thanks for commenting. I got other Binaltech figures, so I don't feel the need to get another Smokescreen. If I was really into Subaru WRXs, than I would probably get the Binaltech version.

hi dude i watcht your review of smokescreen and liked it allot but i have a question

i got my smokescreen from japan (my firts transformer)

and it looks like your in a lot off ways but my rims are diffrent same color only more spokes and the rear spoiler black inside and bleu outside

and the biggest diffrents is that the hood parts are frome metal or diecas

olso got a diffrent liecents plate and just one name on the side windshield

does yours got metaal parts???

Mine is the all plastic version....in fact the whole Alternators line is that way.

It sounds like you have the Binaltech version, which has die-cast metal parts

really a good job they done, the alignments between the various parts are almost perfect, from the outside sounds like a normal die cast replica
