I've got three or so 'proper' US PRS McCarty guitars. I also have an SE single cut and I LOVE it. It's lighter than my US guitars, it sounds great and the neck feel and build quality are every bit as good as my expensive guitars... I'm tempted by one of these. And a Santana SE too... You won't be disappointed...
Boys and Girls - Nevada Music have 20 Bernie Marsden Signature PRS guitars on order. We will be the first in the UK to see them and best of all the price will only be £649!!!!! We've already pre-sold half of our allocated stock so give us a call if you want one.
I can only wait until one of these with the Ibanez Fireman comes out. The video, that is. And hopefully then I'll find out when I'll actually be able to buy it! And just to make something clear, I'm talking about the red Fireman that's going to be mass produced. :b
PRS, Epiphone, Squier etc do a great job offerig really good instruments for a reasonable price.
Compared to a PRS Private Stock its ten times cheaper, but does the Private Stock sound ten times better? I doubt it. I even doubt you could tell much of a difference between a good midrange guitar and a fancy botique style one in blind A/B comparison.
But as long as there are brand snobs, there are redicolously expensive products.
Titanium tremolo blocks, all Koa guitars, handwired pickups...lmao!
@Account3of7 I agree with u, however keep in mind that PRS's SE line are the only affordable guitars they make. Regular PRS's average out at 3000$ and the Private Stocks are the price of a car.
Really expensive guitars only have collectors value. I have been selling guitars for 20 years and my experience is, you cant tell 'that much' of a difference. Certainly not a 12.000$ difference by the sound of an instrument. Impossible.
Imho as a musician its best to chose the instrument that fits your needs the best. And if you have a 5000$ budget and the guitar you like the most is a 500$ Ibanez or whatever - so be it. Take it, have fun and dont fall for brand (or wood) snobbery!
@Account3of7 I played an Epiphone for 5 years, it sucked. However this guitar is the coolest looking SE PRS has come out with yet, and it sounds incredible.
@Account3of7 I have a PRS Private Stock DGT amongst many other guitars, PRS and other premium brands, and believe me the PRS private stock is worth very penny I paid for it
@togbetsoup I didnt say that custom shop guitars are not worth the money. They are beautiful pieces of handicraft and they sound equisite, no doubt about that. Its nice knowing they are one of a kind. But sound-wise the difference is not that big. A/B blind comparison is a powerful tool when it comes to chosing an instrument while maintaining impartiality. I sell guitars and my eperience is that musicians will be happier with the choice of their heart and feel, not their brand-awareness.
Just bought this today. 16th of first 20 ever in the us that were sold. Love it. Beautiful sound. Beautiful guitar. Recommend it strongly already.

@TheHawkdaddy
Marshall > Fender
AK47 > M16
Blond > Brunette
Ford > Chevy
Critics > Believers...
Or vice versa? Dont remember...
But i do remember that there is no statement like X>Y. Its just personal preference.

@Account3of7 Well said Sir.
And as Buddy Whittington says on his song Deadwood and Wire------
"An old Fender's nice but considering the price I think I sound about the same on a Squier".
