Dear Dutch people: I am a common Icelandic citizen. I had absolutely nothing to do with Icesave, any of the banks crashing, the financial crisis or you losing any of your money. You did business with the Icelandic banks on your own responsibility when you knew there was a brewing Financial Crisis across the globe. I don't owe you a fucking cent.
Started out funny but the violence lacked any kind of finesse or wit.
On to the matter: Iceland's capital mistake was guaranteeing domestic deposists, but not foreign ones which is in breach of the EEA treaty.
If they had just bankrupted the bank and told EVERYONE including their domestic customers that their money was gone, then this would not have been an issue at all. Now, they borrowed 10 k€ per human in Iceland to pay everyone back in full.
People should do some more research before going online and talking about not giving the dutch there money back. They will pay it back , if you like it or not. Did you really think that the dutch would just forget about the money? +1 Holland.

Seriously though, Icelanders are absolutely right not to pay for other peoples losses. Besides, anyone who put their money on a bank called 'Icesave' deserves to lose it. The 'savers' who got bailed out should pay that money back, not people who had nothing to do with the risk-taking. It's obscene to suggest otherwise, but unfortunately that's the world we live in.
@bobbyb1978... agree with you in that one.. btw. I'm icelandic and this is not exactly doing good things for our nation.. many people have lost everything.. Icelanders are not responsible for your loss..corrupt politicians like Balkenende and Brown want to cover up their mistakes by making us pay for their own mistakes..we were not the one who told you to go along with this.. and it's not the peoples fault that our goverment and our president are so badly spoiled!
