The Material superioty given by America was enormous, Read "the germans in Normandy" and countless statements were made by german soldiers about the endless supply of material and the constant aireal bombbardments and jabo air to ground attacks. very good book
Good program, but in my opinion they should have given "Hobarts Funnies" more coverage. They made big contributions to the british and canadian landings, and, had the americans had something similar they could probably avoided many causalities
@higfny There is an entire series here on youtube about Hobart and his invaluable contributions to the war effort. I think it originally aired on the History channel under "Mechanical Marvels" episode about D-day.
I'm only 18 and love learning about history especially military history and watch/read as much documentaries and books as I can get my hands on tho agreed a lot of today's youth don't care about the past.
Yeah, same here. I sometimes can't understand how uninterested some ppl our age are. I mean - thanks to those men I can live in a free country with no nazi fags in government. Our (the German youth's) ancestors died for a lost cause (defending Hitler's ambitions) and nobody really cares anymore.
Panzer Lehr was probably the best panzer division in the German Heer. Großdeutschland a close second. 12SS had excellent commanders and NCO's but very young, inexperienced soldiers with unbelievable devotion to Hitler and Himmler.
a the largest landings to take place in history, as well as the greatest co operation betweeen the common wealth and the americans. shame such co operation is forgotten among young people

In Normandy 8/12 there is no mention of Airborne's use of Brit leg bags that broke free during descent.
