Havent you seen those movies and reenactments?

They keep marching, in this game its as if every single soldier deserts the field if the get just a tiny bit worried.

What would be even more realistic would be if you could shoot fleeing soldiers and invoke some discipline. :P

Well, I actually agree. What I didn't like about Cossacks is that broken units just dissipear. Rather then a chunk of them turning up the next morning at camp or brought in by the cavalry. I wouldn't take reenactments seriously for this era of warfare. Christopher Duffy has a book "The Military Experience in the Age of Reason" which is a great read for this type of stuff if you want to learn more. :) (Me, I just want to pump my favourite author on the subject!)

Yeah dude, they should have modeled it after Rome Total War. The morale system in that was excellent.

Yea thats a bit exaggerated, its like if 3 units would shoot into air and those guys would start to flee.

You can exploit this by having 5+ cavalry units in the late game, run to the enemy (More sqads then better). Shoot one wolley and they will lose morale and flee no matter their casualties or difficulty setting.

Try holding your ground. Put the yatagans in line, with a squad of archers to the rear of each yatagan company. The Prussians should approach and attempt to flank you. If you have flanks lean away from the center, towards the enemy, it will force them to fire obliquely, thus wasting their shot (ie causing minimal casualities). Order archers to fire as the Prussians approach. Let them initiate hand to hand combat. This will allow you to utilize your defenseive "hold ground" bonus.

why the fuck do all the soldiers start running to the rear as soon as they come into contact with the enemy???? that would really annoy me. I'd be like "where the fuck are you going?? the enemy is that way!!!!!"

Well, the game uses a morale system. The morale represents the soldiers' experience, will of fighting. If the soldiers are scared or aren't too experienced, their morale is lower and therefore they flee when they contact the enemy or receive a haevy volley.

The soldiers I had in this battle were of VERY poor quality and have a very low morale.

When one formation flees it drags other formations with it... This causes a great unrest among the ranks. Remember, the soldiers are not robots ;)

Plus, these are Egyptian troops, armed only with swords and bows... And they are ordered to attack Prussian infantry armed with muskets...

Would you choose to fight or flee in such situation? :D
