  • My hurt

  • Without gramma, where would we be?

  • i love you man, you should go on an online game and be a grammar nazi! (believe me, most of them deserve it-first, they use "n---er" and "homo" as insults, their User Names use numbers and misspellings, and--GASP--they use "less" to describe how many kills they have!!!!!!!)

  • 11 enemies of grammar

  • This is why I love Weird Al.

  • Grammar nazi

  • There's also a comma that should be added.

  • Drive fast, drive slow. Drive slowly, drive fastly.

  • @MatthewMcVeagh fast is an exception to the rule in adverbs - it doesn't get ly.

  • @archivesbc I know that's the standard rule, I was pointing out the discrepancy between the two. It makes a lot of sense that some people will change one to match the other by analogy.

  • Weird Al is like wine. He gets better with time.

  • Could also use a semicolon after "CAUTION", and the word "Use" before.

  • Could also use a comma or a colon after "CAUTION"

  • Could also use a comma or a colon after "CAUTION"

  • Grammar! I agree completely!

It always annoys me when I see "your" used in place of "you're" in comment sections!

  • @electronfun you're comment makes scents!

  • He forgot the semicolon that should be placed after 'caution.'

  • Win lol

  • Was this like a family vacation to Hawaii or Tahiti or something? Cause I'll bet he made the news. "This just in, Weird Al terrorizes Island . . . . "

  • For those of you who haven't guessed, the "Flat Adverb" or adjective which can be used as an adverb without adding 'ly' was a grammar convention created long after Al graduated from college. It was actually one of many rule changes made to keep journalists and celebrity speakers from looking like idiots. However, it is just like the conjunction in that while it is correct, it is informal; so old people and grammar Nazis will have your ass if you overuse it.

  • Slow is also an adverb Al. Sorry you had to hear it from me.

  • @rbrbran277

Uh no. Slow is an adjective which modifies a noun. It can be used as an adverb when modifying another adjective, such as the slow, red car, but not to modify a verb unless it is a predicate nominative, such as slow driving. Heil Grammar, Heil.

  • @paperdain You should go work for Random House, dude. Your first action as employee could be to correct this part of their dictionary. I'm sure they'd give you a big bonus and a corner office.

  • Comment removed

  • @rbrbran277

I am quite aware of the "flat adverb" rbrbran, I was being facetious; my "Heil Grammar Heil " crack should have clued you in to that. Besides, I already have a corner office at the local Grammar Police precinct.

  • Before:Caution Drive Slow

After: Caution Drive Slowly Weird Al You genius!

  • Did anyone else notice his shoes?

  • love it, I want to change every sign I see!

  • I don't get why people are upset by his aging. He's aging pretty well, I'd say.

  • Yankovic for President.

If Barack could do it, why he not?

  • @PunchSydeiron Ahh yes, At last our National Anthem will be "Dare to Be Stupid"

  • BRILLIANT !!!!!!

unfortunately, if i tried that i would wind up in jail for defacing public property or some such crap !

    GO AL !

  • Frickin' BRILLIANT!

  • Hahaha so great

  • I hate when people say, "The reason is, is that ..." Seems like everybody is falling into that grammar trap these days.

Also, "I need you to sign off on this." How do two opposite prepositions, "off" and "on" go right next to each other?

Ve grammar Nazis cannot allow zis.

  • I hate it wen speeling four sentense grammer isnt good at all.

  • I guess Weird Al lives in Hawaii. Why did I always picture him living in a suburb of Detroit or something?

  • @highestcount I think that is California.

  • @highestcount He has a home in both.

  • We need to learn how to be gooder in English!

  • @ShaneTheRaccoonDog so sounds more funner than stoopid gramer!

  • Grammar Nazi!

  • No. Please pick up Slow, he needs a ride.

  • he looks like a pirate

and why does weird al sound so much like Goku

  • lmao

  • Weird Al is saving the world , one grammar mistake at a time

  • Of course the grammar is abysmal, but don't get caught.

The law considers it defacement and as it is a traffic sign

    enhances the charge.

  • Next he should visit the supermarket and change "10 items or less" to "10 items or fewer".

  • @OneWeirdDude /watch?v=RGWiTvYZR_w

  • @CaptainDarthy Hey thanks!

  • @OneWeirdDude #fail

GODS DONT AGE! NOTHING MAKES SENSE ANYMORE D:

  • @hiimgod801 Capitalization people, come on.

  • @Diarkia124 ... I like Billy Mays. :c

  • @hiimgod801 That guy was awesome. I loved his show "PItchmen".

  • Go, Weird Al! Literates of the world, rise up and point out bad spelling and grammar to the perpetrators!

norien123 Aging? There's no such word! Try ageing instead. I am, it's hideous.

ksr80drz400 - it's not "common", "it's come on". Two words.

mhostiuck - Have you ever heard of capital letters? Commas? Come on!

HanBOHobbit - You're right! Could this be a hyphen situation?

    lockergnome - Why the colon?

  • Thumbs up if chris pirillo send you here...

  • @chupweb - Ha. :)

  • thank you al

  • Glad you're here to make the world a more grammatically correct place. One sign at a time.

  • 0:18 helmetless scooter rider in shorts and t-shirt - gear people, common, seriously!

  • Hey Al, while you're at it, put a comma or something after "Caution" would you? Thanks! :)

  • Is that his wife driving?

  • @crescentfreshbret Yes, yes it is

  • And this is why people get speeding tickets, because they fail to comprehend the horrible use of grammar on signs such as the one just corrected.

  • lol They might assume that drivers don't know that verbs need adverbs and therefore, they think that they must drive slow and not slowly. Simple explanation: You speak the driver's language :P(just a joke)

  • oddly enough, i do the same thing. I keep several full stick sticky notes in my car with a sharpie for just such an occasion. They may not aslt long, but the few who see the correction when passing will see and learn a little.

  • Weird Al doesn't get old; his epicness makes everything around him seem young.

  • That's hularious... grammar people!!!

  • @taylorg9999 so is spelling

  • THANK YOU for doing that! that shit bugs the shit outta me

  • if you look at the "grammar lesson" video, which is two days before this one, he has no mustache or beard but in this one, he has a full beardstache combo. he has amazing follicles.

  • I watched this my face went from O.o to XD and yes XD is sideways cause i fell outta my chair

  • @Shackzar

Please remove yourself from the gene pool

    Thanks

  • @redemptionwins say please

  • pause it at 0:20 or 0:21.

i cant believe weird al wears crocs. no one wears them anymore

  • @coolalex111 If an Iron Chef can wear crocs, anyone can wear crocs.

  • "Weird Al" for president! Change we can notice!

  • @PunchSydeiron He would get my vote

  • It should be "Caution Drive Fast" Then it would make more sense.

  • 9 people have bad grammar

  • You are my favorite person ever right now.

  • @sheesheesh lol; I think it's more than nine. More like nine out of ten. ^^;

  • His aging saddens me.

  • @norien123 Honey, we all age. Accept it.

  • @norien123

Aging? Hes only 51 ffs -_-

  • @norien123 You're only young once but you can be immature forever.

  • @norien123 Pisher!

Would you rather he'd died young?

  • My dearest, dearest Al.

    Slowly has but one L.

  • @PelPix

    slowy?

    sowly?

  • @PelPix Hate to inform you, but he did make it "slowly". That is how you spell the word.

  • It's called a flat adverb.

  • You tell them, Al! LOL :D

  • WIN!!!

  • Where would we be without you Al?

  • adverbs should be frowned upon, becuase what we really need is a single verb that means "driving slowly". but this is okay, because two fails cancel each other out

  • *Tsk tsk* Weird Al, not wearing your seatbelt.

  • Muahaha! There was a big sign outside my flat with bad grammar. I sent a complaint to the local council and within a week the sign was gone! They never replaced it either.

  • God speed, good sir.

    *Sniff!* God speed.

  • is he wearing lady shoes? o.o

  • @codeinjection

  • Was that a bullet hole in the "O" in the word "SLOW(LY)"?!!?!!

  • @TechWizard28 chewing gum :D

  • Grammar Nazis!

  • I love it!

I'm showing this to all my students!

  • You no, Weird Al has a lot of improper grammer in his songs and yet he's highly obsessed with it being on signs

  • @musicbox193 HE can use improper grammar. He is Al, and you are not.

  • "SLOWLY", though correct, wouldn't fit the sign I guess

  • Hey there is a reason why the grammar on plates suck. Those who design the texts are those lazy bastards we kick up to do the job.

We say "Do something useful" and well they are born losers!

I love these signs "Shcool" "Slow Children At Play"

  • fucking epic.

  • we even don't have signs niggas stole them all

  • Good man, he is doing a great service to the community.

  • Al Please come to Calgary, AB!

  • Is "Grammar, people. Come on! Seriously." a grammatically correct to begin with?

  • @Neotails8762 What's a "grammatically correct"? And yes, imperatives are legitimate sentences.

  • Hehehe, I love that.

There should also be a comma or a colon after "caution".

  • hahaha!

  • hehe

    weird al is super

  • saw this video just becouse eddsworld saved it as a favorite xD

    But its great :D

  • @Iinky94 me too

  • Hey Al when are you coming to Calgary? Please let me know, Id love to go with my adult nerdy friends.

  • @crazynakedpandas WOOOOO CALGARY!

  • @crazynakedpandas Yeah He really should come to Calgary!

  • @justinbieberstinks38 theres a sign that says that on my street lol

  • the man is a legend !!!

  • Nice crocs

  • AL should be a school teacher LOL

  • @mattm172 a pancreas teacher at that!

  • A decade ago I noticed city-made signs in the "run down" areas of Miami, declaring Rite Turn Only. Run Down indeed.

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! OLD! OLD! OLD! AHHHHHHHHH!! WRINKLES!!! LINES! AHHHHHH!

  • Grammer alone won´t help if the seatbelt isn´t put on! Example, Yankovic, come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Come on! put on a damn seatbelt!

  • AHAHAHA i love how his wife was just like "ohh...kk" LOLOL

  • Hey Al! Do you change "thru" to "through?"

  • Slow is a flat adverb, making the sign correct.

google "Flat adverb" if you don't believe me.

  • @BenGilg1 "Flat adverb" may be a term, but that doesn't make this usage correct. "Dangling Modifier" is also a term, but we all know that those aren't grammatically correct.

  • @BenGilg1 "Flat adverb" may be a term, but that doesn't make this usage correct. "Dangling Modifier" is also a term, but we all know that those aren't grammatically correct.

  • its like the love police

  • English teacher Al!

  • he saved the world :D

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I never noticed that..

  • Amen!

  • Why don't they put slowly on the signs in the first place? Are they too lazy or is the not enough room?

  • lol that was the awesome

  • He is such a grammer nazi

  • @NerdTronX "Grammar!" Spell it reich--I mean, right! Mach Schnell!

  • I love it go. You go Al :)

  • Does this man age??!

  • "Grammar, people, come on!"

It occurs to me, along with what @tigerjemm said, that he either found a lot of adverbial stickers and snipped the "LY" off them, or he managed to a shop selling stickers which only say "LY", or he actually made them himself.

    Either way, that's dedication.

  • I saw a "SLOW CHILDREN AT PLAY" sign and drew in a comma with my Sharpie after "SLOW", because I joked about how I didn't like being called slow when I was little.

  • @JustinBieberStinks38 I always found those signs to be a little misleading.

  • @JustinBieberStinks38

    Technically, that would be a colon or a dash--not a comma. ^_^

  • @JustinBieberStinks38 our school just says slow childeren

  • @JustinBieberStinks38

Dude, how could people call you slow? You, sir, are definately not "slow". Your username is " JustinBieberStinks38". You OBVIOUSLY know what you are talking about ;)
