Ripoff prices, terrible service, total greed... they're just jealous they can't buy for peanuts and sell for whatever they want anymore. Aussie retailers only have themselves to blame. Instead of trying to make everyone pay more, why not lobby the government to reduce tariffs for THEM to import, so they make more profit? Or you know, just make a little less than 200%!

I hope everyone realises what is really taking place here. Harvey and Co want to abolish minimum wage. If I have to explain to you how this campaign lays the groundwork for that, then you should look closer.

It's also pertinent the debate is directed toward retailers, helpfully missing the real culprits- rental leases (think Westfield, Centro). We have the most expensive leases in the world. These costs get passed on. If they encourage vitriol against retailers, we aren't blaming Westfield.

@sparkydaskworl : yes except that harvey norman in particular own most of their stores and do not pay rent to malls. in one case they built a store so large as to not have a carpark, instead implying that customers were to use the parking space of a neighbouring business.

Well the thing is. Manufacture use cheap labor as we all know from China. And since they pay them so little. Why should I spend $200-$500, when labor and cost for whole sale is like $20-$50. The retail cheat us off too. I rather go online and find a lower price and not pay overprice. Retail just want to get fat with our hard working money. And retailers now QQ. Online brings out how low the value in retail item could really go. Thumbs up for online.
