  • Oh, what a sad state we're in

  • Beautiful....

  • Been listening to Leon for 40 years; 'discovered' him in Concert for Bangladesh, and have admired his music ever since. This has always been my favorite; it was apropos in 1972 and it still is today; a musical evergreen from a musical genius.

  • they need to add obummer to this video...

  • House

  • Brilliant use of graphics to punctuate Leon's classic song..

    Bravo!..

  • religious people need to fucken evolve

  • @JacobH420

    No Shit!

  • @JacobH420 Like people who use useless profanity?

  • I have always enjoyed his music. It is unforgettable.

  • This is one of my favorite Leon songs. He is such a great artist. I never tire of listening to him.

  • I love Leon - forever and forever more

  • "shares the simple secret with the wise men"

'shares a bed of hay with a burro in the palace of the kingdom"

Hmmm...WHO could Leon be talking about WAY BACK THEN?

'Do you recognize the bells of freedom when you hear them ring?'

  • In the 60's, Leon used to be a session player on Sharon Sheeley (Eddie Cockran's girlfriend) demos in LA. I learned so much from them. Good old days! Thanks for posting!

  • @laaxe

He also played piano and wrote for Gary Lewis (Jerry Lewis) and the Playboys.

  • This is one of my favorite Leon songs. He is soooooooooooooo sexy. Just saw him in Richmond, VA

  • leon is a down to earth composer will be missed when he is gone the whple world could learn from his down to earth style wayne neuner a

  • I've always loved this song, and I seldom comment on videos (unless it's to bash people for wasting my time and showing their ignorance) but I had to let you know , this was fantastic. Wonderful job!

  • Man they sure don't write 'em like this anymore. Great stuff from Leon, thanks for posting!!

  • great great great... withstands the test of time

  • Don Preston is the co-author of this and always has been a top notch musician. Great song, thanks for posting.

  • @Aiden057 Is that the same Don Preston that palyed with the Mothers of Invention?

  • I'm pretty sure it is, but it might be someone else with the same name. I'll have to try to nail that down for sure. He's the only don Preston I know about and the keyboard parts do sound like him, the synth parts.

  • Whaddaya know

  • @urwclwg -No, 2 different Don Prestons. Don

  • Ah..YES, The "GRAND" Leon RUSSELL! Been -a- While! Jus' before turnin' in last evenin' I heard this Great "Inspired" Song Again in my old 57-year old Head. I remembered when my pal and I had the honour of Meeting the Great Man after His concert at the Old Atlanta Auditorium, MAN ,he was even taller than when he was seated @ the Stineway Grand! This 'dude' has come a "far-piece" from the 'Keyboardist' of "GARRY Lewis and the Playboys"(c.1964-66!) YES the song, it rings EVEN truer now!
