From the CD liner notes: "'Ana Wehabib' (meaning 'My Lover And I'), is a composistion by Abdel Wahab with a tango feel, using a 2/4 rhythm but played like an Eqyptian wahada kabira rhythm. which is used for playing under instrumental solo sections. Composed more than four decades ago, this piece is an indication of the influence of Latin American music on the Orient as well as on the rest of the world."
well it sounds like tango, flamenco and a hot egiptian mix...well done :)

Hmm. I'll doublecheck the liner notes on the CD (which I don't have access to right now). Sometimes we're only as good as our sources.
And belly dance is totally foreign to many places in the world, but that doesn't keep many people from fusing it with music from all over.

FYI, this tune is not Sudanese, rather Egyptian. Sudanese music is mostly pentatonic, and belly dancing concept is totally foreign to Sudan.
