  • I am proud to be an Army Aviator, proudly serving as a crew member and door-gunner on a UH-60 blackhawk. As a child, visiting my uncle, in Bellwood, AL, I got to witness all helicopter training all around. I remember in '69 visiting other relatives, who had leased out their pasture fields to the Army, practice mass landings...one right after another...all night long.. It stirred my "oats" I got my chance in the 82nd Abn Div, and loved every minute. I survived two crashes.

  • Awesome! I had always been interested in Vietnam War and the helicopters used in it.

  • I love that chopper sound! I saw some of the real aerobatics of the AH-1G serving with an all-Cobra outfit - 235th Aerial Weapons Company - in the Mekong Delta in 1971. While I was support, I then flew over 100 hours in everything but a Cobra, with C Troop 16th Cav (Air). Even had a half-hour of stick time (what can you run into in the Delta?).

  • I took my son to the Vectren Air Show and rode with these guys. Awesome..Thanks for the experience and for what you done for our country

  • Thank you all for your service. I hope one day to follow in your footsteps if I earn the honor to be selected into Army Aviation. You have my deepest respect...
