you can actually get the absolution tour dvd in the US by finding a limited edition copy of Black Holes and Revelations. I found one for $40 on ebay and don't regret it for a second
@musejames93 Because Warner is shite! Something about BBC copyright, because they broadcast the whole show, but that didn't make sense because all the rest of the footageon the DVD is from them as well! They put SS from Earl's Court instead, but left out the best bit... the outro! Fools =P
@doodles4 i think it was because Dom's dad died on this night, and Blackout, i think thats what the DVD ends with annyway, makes a great kind of remembrance symblem, cause this song is far to rocking for such a tragedy =/
I don't understand why there is even a dislike button in the first place, if you don't like it why are you watching it? Im looking at you sole person who disliked this amazing video.
@srproductions123 when you put like instruments or anything really close to an amp it makes it have that really high pitched crazy sound. couldnt tell you why but it does it just fucks with it but i think a lot of this was just for show.
when matt start the riffs, when he stand on the amp, does that change the sound or anything when he stands on the amp and puts the guitar close to the mic(is that what ehes trying to do?) lol i dont know anything about guitars id love to know. please answer
Before that night, some people questioned what three kids in their early 20's were doing, closing the best festival in the world. Until they blew a hole a mile wide in the whole place, that is.
I was there that night. It was, and still is, the greatest thing I have ever seen. Ever.
@Scott0678 In Agitated outro the riff goes something like 12,0,3,0,5,0,6,0,7 on low E-string that is tuned to D but in this version he plays it a bit differently.
@MrM00000 it's an unknown riff they made up (they have quite a lot of those!). They used to play it after Stockholm a lot, then stopped, then they brought it back in 07 (see Wembley Stadium gigs).
@imgonnadiesoon Which one? They didn't play Maggie's Farm at this gig. The second riff is a common one they've played at a lot of gigs that they made up themselves, mainly after SS. They have played Maggie's Farm as early as 2003 in their Absolution era, but not here. I've followed their sets for five years and it's a known riff among fans now - it's just nameless ;]
@doodles4 nevermind, you are indeed correct. Though, I always thought it resembled the maggie's farm riff, just shifted two intervals up with a slight rhythm change
Most of the time, when it's the bands grand finally, they'd smash the intruments, or jump if the stage and hoping to be caught by willing fans. But Muse... um… let's just say that… um… THEY ARE WAY BETTER!!!!!!!
They've called it their best performance to date. I'm pretty sure I'm about 900 of those 2080 views of this video haha.
The drummer, Dom, after the performance went to see his dad backstage, and his dad died of a heart attack backstage immediately after they walked off at the end of this song.
@tinajoo No prob =] ... but this isn't on the Absolution DVD. The evil fools at Warner decided not to include the best ever performance on there! Instead we got SS from Earls Court... it's brilliant too, but they cut off the best part - the outro! Thank God the BBC were on the ball and decided to film this for Glasto footage!
@doodles4 they actually left this out so they could finish the glasto performance with a dedication to doms father who died suddenly of a heart attack back stage less than an hour after thier set finished
@tinajoo If you're savvy enough you can track down a really high quality 'avi' file of this in all it's unedited glory :). I got mine from your typical torrent site back in the day. Worth looking around for ;).
@ericthecro How was what edited? this video? i didn't say that it had been. I was referring to the difference between the retail DVD of the gig and the full 'unedited' AVI recording of the whole performance that you can find online. Check the comment i was responding to and you'll see the context. Cheers.
I was there for this and the odd thing is, regardless of how this video looks, there was only a fraction of the people for the other headline acts present for this. You could literally stroll to the front of the crowd! It was really surreal. I guess it was a Sunday night and most of the Oasis and McCartney fans had fucked off home by then.
Still, I'm not the biggest Muse fan but it was an amazing performance from start to finish.
@BEastmix Wow, you're so lucky! I've only spoken to a handful of Musers who were there and a few who haven't and the reaction from every single one has been the same: it was a phenomenal night, and this one of their best live performances. I would have KILLED to be there!!
Yeah, I'm not that surprised it wasn't as packed... they were only just making their mark, and Glasto 04 put them on the map. They were bloody awesome at Glasto 2010 too, but nothing tops this =D!
I'm trying to think of a better live rock performance than this ever, and I can't...& just realised, not because I can't remember one, but because there hasn't been one
@doodles4 i think their performance of SS at earls court is better to be honest, i would actually also put TIRO from this year's glastonbury up there as well... probably also one of their OOS bliss performances
@KnightsHuSayNee That's a common opinion, but I still don't think the Earl's Court SS was as amazing as this one - it just doesn't have the same buzz or energy, imo. On the whole, I prefer Glasto 04 to Glasto 10; it just felt stronger, although I still thought this year's performance was great. Can't wait to see them in a few weeks in Manchester, followed by Wembley! =D

Outro riffs in order of Appearance
1. Unknown riff basically 0,1,2,3 On the D String
2. Original Stockholm Syndrome Outro Riff (Check MuseWiki to find the tabs)
3. Execution Commentary Riff (Again Check MuseWiki)
4. Another made up riff (5,6,7,8 On the D String then 6 on the A string)
Voila :)
Scott0678 1 year ago 14
@Scott0678 Correct, except the last riff isn't made up, it's the outro to Agitated ;]
doodles4 1 year ago
@doodles4 Ah i stand corrected =P
Scott0678 1 year ago
@Scott0678 first riff is Peter Gunn's Theme
MsOrtMan 1 year ago
@Scott0678 The second is a variation on Maggie's Farm I believe... The Rage cover of course.

@Scott0678 number 2 is headup by the deftones. and @doodles4 is right, 4 is the outro to agitated. from hullabaloo, great song
srproductions123 1 year ago
@Scott0678 Is that second riff the original Stockholm outro? I've heard it on plenty of other songs - TSP at Carlington Isle Academy, for example.
nocturnezero 1 year ago
@Scott0678 In Agitated outro the riff goes something like 12,0,3,0,5,0,6,0,7 on low E-string that is tuned to D but in this version he plays it a bit differently.
