It's from 2006 - obviously Valve took this beta and cleaned it up -the looks for example is probably to further contrast the difference between the test lab (now gleaming white) and the outside of it (dark, dirty).

Dude, this is the real map, but with a terret added at the end of the map to show the features and physics in it. Also you do get a gun at this part of the damn level, the portal might not havethe same textures but it looks the same.

Yea, at the end of the game, they promised a party and the icon was a little cake thingy. After the level, your on a platform that is going twards a wall with a cake on it, then when the platform turns, it starts to barrel into a pit of fire. you then have to think fast. if you want to know how to NOT die, pm me.

first - you know how you put the second box onto the red pad then jumped onto the pad nearest the door ? well you went off and got another box while you could have just shot a portal through the open door and made antother one on the wall - jump in appear next to the gun, pick it up and throw it away and jump into the elevate to get your cake (which is a lie !)

you will need to do it my way if you are going to go onto the chalanges for that level...

theres another game called narbacular drop that is so similar to this, this game may just be based on it. narbacular drop is free though and you can make and download custom levels from the main site. this game is definitely going to be a hell of alot better, but NB is still worth the download.
