Hey I made screenshots of Round 1 with my NESTopia (Yeah I know that has different colors than this one) and used MS Paint to remake the second half; making that good and not dark!

Awesome game, though I hate to correct this...but it's actually the Dark World, not the Dark Land, not like it matters though.
Great reaction to the whole cactus thing, though I'm actually completely used to it nowadays.
The music is also not only repetitive in the sewer level, but in most of the other levels too...only in the sewer level, it's blatantly obvious that it's looping, in some of the other levels I hardly even noticed it. Also while repetitive, some of the music is well made.

I always thought that Bert shot fireballs rather than lasers but then again with the shape they are you can't really tell.
The graphics may not be that good, but it's really not that bad either, it certainly looks better than other games on the NES like Ghostbusters for example.
Overall, great Let's play so far...and I close my comment with this: Bert is a total badass, and I was always disapointed when I turned back into Mark.
Not to mention wii play was made by Nintendo and the power glove made by mattel! The list goes on. I guess no matter how big you are, you can never avoid the idiom "You win some, you lose some!"

To be perfectly honest I never really liked Let's Plays all that much but I found this to be an entertaining video. Also, the Alien Trilogy reject in the 2nd level that spit out bubbles reminds me of Super C.
And the reason I said it reminds me of Super C is because of the alien spawning things in Area 7. They look very similar only the ones in this are blue and smaller.

It reminds me of alien trilogy because that's where the face-huggers spawn from. The egg even peels like it does in this game!
