As a mother, would you put your child on display, speaking out on such a controversial topic, essentially putting her in "harms' way in order to parrot her parent's view? This may be the child's genuine feeling, but she is obviously not old enough to have had real life experience to come that conclusion on her own. There will come a time when it's appropriate for her to publicly discuss this issue, but for now, how about encouraging her to advocate for age-appropriate issues like pet adoption?

@Damis10001 Interestingly enough, as a child of just two years older than this child I gave a speech on the issue of Abortion. I felt VERY strongly as a young woman, completely UNINFLUENCED by my parents thoughts on the subject. I have always felt abortion was inhumane and that was my own personal view. So, in answer to your question, I think that you are making the assumption she has no independent thinking processes or the ability to feel deeply and the right to speak her world viewpoint.

@kimbees324 Thank you so much. It really hurts my heart to see young girls attacked like this. As a mother, I felt I had to speak out. Regardless of whether or not you agree with the debate topic, this is a young girl who has stood up in front of thousands of people and delivered a very eloquent speech. We should be encouraging her to use her voice, not stopping her.
