@Joleine28 It really depends on the people you play with. D&D, for me, has to be played around a table with friends. Half the fun is the trash talk, jokes, dice tossing and social atmosphere. The storyteller or DM has to be moderate at the job, so it gets exciting when it should. ex... Try to catch a group that works for you, & try again. Maybe you will enjoy it more.

They only made one joke to the actual mechanics of D&D. And have you ever written a song? It can be really hard to find words or sentences that work in context with the song, so sometimes you have to make small mistakes to make it work. So, personally, I forgive them for the screw ups.

2) I have written a song yes. I've written many things. It's what I do - I'm a writer.

3) I can certainly appreciate the fun while forgiving some poor lyrics. It just keeps me from really loving it. After all, it's hard to enjoy an anthem about say, Canada, when the person is talking about how there's sandy warm beaches everywhere. They just don't sound genuine.

@Stairc Really, at what point does he get something wrong about the MECHANICS. 99% of this song is about the players, not the game. The only point where I can see them saying anything about mechanics is "... but a fair dungeon master, he's got hitpoints and charisma to lend." which maybe if you had never played or read anything but 4e, you could see that as wrong. but up through 3.5e there were monsters that would drain your stats, such as charisma, and it was hard to regain.
