  • Are the factory HK compensators any good at reducing flash too? Or just the ones marked as 'flash suppressors'? I have a PTR-91 KC with the welded-on HK compensating muzzle break (has the round drilled ports) and I'm unable to fire it at night to find out for myself.

  • @uber1337420 I can't see the compensator for myself, so unsure.

A good rule of thumb is to look at the muzzle end.

If it's just a small .30 calibre hole at the muzzle end and the rest is sealed then it's a muzzle brake only.

If the end of the muzzle device is completely open then you've got a genuine flash suppressor.

If it's the small hole, chances are you'll still have a heckuva flash.

If you have a range you can shoot at even near twilight hours, this will become readily apparent.

  • @uber1337420 I think he just demo'd an HK flash hider. The one you are describing on your ptr kc, is the factory PTR muzzle brake. The factory HK flash suppressors are decent at reducing flash. I didn't know PTR welded on any of their muzzle devices.

  • @hanskaltwasser IGF makes US flash hiders for the 15x1 pattern, if you want to keep your parts count.

  • @hanskaltwasser It's only welded on to be compliant with my state's laws. New Jersey in this case.

  • can you americans make another hk91 show and tell with a T6 stock and a hand rail guard please

  • @TURKSTA19 TAPCO products are cheap crap.

If you own one, ditch it and buy something that won't break on you.

  • @Frankdude72 lol you see the problem is that im in a gun free nation called australia thats why i requested it lol

  • @TURKSTA19 I figured you were OCONUS, though by your name I guessed Turkey, where it's very difficult to get any rifle. (Though pistols and shotguns seem relatively common.)

Are you looking for reviews on aftermarket stocks you can actually buy?

Either way, I have no interest on outfitting my personal longguns with stocks barely acceptable for airsofts.

For HKs, stick with HK factory, B&T, or MagPul and maybe Choate.

  • Damn, flash hiders are pretty effective..

  • I miss my g3a4 :(

  • Well it is about time. I just watched 10 Youtubes and every one except this one was a frikken IDIOT!! Finally a guy takes the effort to UNLOAD his gun before he takes off his flash hider. All these other youtubes show how many gunowners are outright idiots!! Good on you bro!!

  • who exactly argues that it makes soldiers mess with their stuff more?

  • Pause it during a muzzle flash, really looks beautiful.

  • oh now i get it, but why do u need a muzzle flash suppressor, i use a suppressor i cod waw.

  • It's just flash suppressor. You attach it on the muzzle. It's to reduce the flash you see. See the video? At the end it looks like you're basically using a flamethrower and it will reveal your position easier, especially at night.

  • Because for a supressor to work you need subsonic ammunition

  • @Phygar1 a suppressor to work well. Lots of people shoot suppressed weapons with regular loads. It quiets it down for sure, just not the movie kind of quiet where you would need subsonic.

  • i so need one of those... well, not really... how loud is it?

  • yup, flash hider is a good thing to have.

  • one sigle shot could illuminate your entire squadron, haha. Not a good thing.

  • Yeah that would suck balls!

  • Great video. What is the thread pitch on a HK flash suppressor?

  • Heh, I had to Google it myself.

    It's 15X1mm right hand.

  • Nice vid i have a H&K 91 and love it

  • It MAKES the difference!
