HOW MANY RECORDS CAN YOU SPOT STARTING AT 2:45? I see the first four Beatles albums in the U.S. ("Introducing The Beatles" on Vee-Jay, "Meet The Beatles," "The Beatles Second Album," and "A Hard Day's Night"). I see a Ray Charles album, Ritchie Valens first album, and the MINDBLOWER, my Uncle Jerry's band Bob Vaught and The Renegades' "Surf Crazy." Whoever filmed this OWNED THAT RECORD. WOW! AND LIKE WOW!
Brian was already missing concert dates by this time. His bad ear was really giving him grief and the amps were starting to affect his good ear as well. With Al coming back, it made it easier for him to skip out on a few live performances. Plus, since this was from a show in Hawaii and Brian was never a "happy traveller" he had even more reason to give this show a "pass". Although, considering the hell he probably got from his dad over it, he may have wished he'd gone ahead and done the tour.
I have no idea when this performance took place, but beginning at 2:45 the earliest this could have been filmed was the summer of 1964 (note the appearance of the "A Hard Day's Night" soundtrack). How strange to see Al Jardine and David Marks on stage together.
@IDLERACER This is about late summer 1963 as David Marks is still in the lineup.Al returned in July 1963 at Brians request and David Marks was Fired/Quit not long after.Brian reluctantly returned on Bass after much badgering from Murry and remained in the touring band until his Nervous breakdown in Dec 64.He did a few shows in 1965 to cover for bruce when he couldnt make it and did one night at the whisky in LA in 1970 but it was the last time hed be a touring member of the band until 1976
Brian at his best, yet again - very very early in his unparalleled career. What a genius for melody. Another unreleased cut that would've been a sure-fire hit.
Two cool songs not released in the 60's. You may notice that Land Ahoy and All Dressed Up eventually became Cherry Cherry Coupe and Marcella respectively.

That vocal riff at the beginning of "All Dressed Up For School" was revisited in "Goin' On" from "Keeping The Summer Alive", released in 1980.

david's dad filmed this.

Is this footage "proof" of David Marks' claims in The Lost Beach Boy?
Seems obvious that he was touring/singing at the same time Alan Jardine was ...

It's proof that Brian Wilson didn't like to tour even in the early years (Alan was brought back to fill in for Brian).

All Dressed Up For School ended up as "I Just Got My pay", also unreleased

Then I Just Got My Pay was re-written as Marcella. BTW, I Just Got My Pay was released on the 1993 box set.

This is a show in Hawaii in 1963 that Brian didn't attend.
Al Jardine and David Marks are both present.
