Hi! Yes Podengos come in three sizes, Dexter of course being the smallest. They are not related to Basenjis as far as I know - however since they are both "primitive" type dogs, it is not surprising that many of the same physical characteristics would have evolved in both breeds, since the humans weren't necessarily breeding them for any particular appearances.
Actually, if you look at the ancestral linage of the breed and read Vitor's book you will see there is Basenji influence behind the breed. This is why a tail curving over and touching the back is a major fault and wrinkles on the top of the head also.
Adorable little dog! I didn't realize this breed came in a small size. :) Are Podengos related to Basenjiis?
