I bought a jar of this a few weeks ago, and the first time I used it I didn't like it. But I think it was because of the way I did my roller set, that had my hair feeling dry.
So I gave it another try yesterday and did my roller set as I would normally do it all along, and I'm happy that my hair came out a lot softer. So hopefully the more I use it, the more trained my hair will become to it.
I bought this product last Friday and used it today to deep condition (30 mins), and this is my new favorite product now. It made my hair stronger and stopped breakage.
Can you please let me know if Cholesterol is a protein deep conditioner or moisturizing deep conditioner? I need to find a deep conditioner that does not have protein in it. Thanks.
I am so glad that I stumbled on to your videos! You are pleasant to watch and your hair is gorgeous. I have not had a relaxer since Jan. 2010, so I guess you can say I am transitioning. Hair is growing really slow and breaking badly the past 2 months. I have had a relaxers since I was 15! I am going to try the cholesterol and some of your other tips, I wear a lot of "natural looking" drwstring ponytails and had wigs because I didn't know what to do with this mess!
I've tried it before. I actually used all mine up lol. The only thing is I would leave it in. I don't know if that is good, but I used it to detangle my hair because I am currently transitioning. I like how it made my hair feel really smooth. So its a thumbs up for that one.
@NavyWife1986 I do it weekly, when I can. I put it on in the shower and rinse it out when I'm done. I don't even use heat ( my dryer broke ) and my hair still comes out soft.
Hi, this maybe a dumb question, but with this product do you deep condition (under dryer or conditioning cap), rinse out then in addition put in a leave-in, say before your Kinky Curly or whatever? Or is the Cholesterol 'so' moisturizing that you just use it as a co-wash then proceed with your usual (curling) styling product over it? p.s. I LOVE your makeup in this video. Pretty!! I'm gonna try to copy you ;)
@MlleCECJ I use it as instructed on the back. When I get a new dryer, I will try it with heat. I cleanse my hair with castle soap and then put the cholesterol on. Thanks for the compliment on the makeup :)
I absolutely love this product....thanks for sharing. I used to use cholesterol years ago when relaxed. I stopped using it because I am natural and thought the mineral oil would be harmful. But my hair was so dry that I decided to try it on my hair and my daughter's hair. I LOVE it and will continue to use it each week. Our hair is now so soft. Thanks again!
I love this too! I actually love anybody's brand; Queen Helene, Lustersilk, LeKair...I had stopped using it for a long time, when I first went natural, and then I saw it in the back of my cabinet, used it, and remembered why I loved it.
I stopped using it for 2 months and yes, it is just that good. I actually did an overnight dc with it lastnight and my hair, as always, is soft and shiny and stronger. Yes, really that stuff is all you need to keep your hair strong and moisturized.
I JUST uploaded a vid about products I use and that Lustrasilk cholesterol was definately one of my faves included! I use the tea tree oil kind...its like a dream for deep conditioning and detangling, and you just cant beat the price!! Who knew cholesterol was so good for my natural hair?? lol
I use this product once every two weeks as a DC mixed with honey and my hair loves it. I leave it on for one or two hours and it softens my new growth. I transitioning again. I'm only six weeks post though....
hey, i have some of that under my cabinet. I had it when i was permed, didnt like it. When i was transitioning i used it on my coil curl wig. it was okay. i'm not sure if i would buy it again to try on my natural hair. Who knows? Maybe i will...
my mom used the same thing on my hair when i was younger and my hair was really healthy. i think the things my mother used back in the day were great.....maybe u should go back to that
I love the cholesterol treatments too. I like the Olive Oil one. My cousin was going to the beauty supply store & I told her to bring me back some & she went old school on me & brought back the original Queen Helene Cholesterol, lol. My cousin is natural & she swears by Queen Helene.
