  • I am going to Burning Man this year and doing body painting. I also have a airbrush machine. What do you think would be the best for this? 114 and dry durring the day and 40 at night.

  • Thank You so much for this info. I am using the red for my halloween costume. Great info...! Thanks

  • cheers for this... being sponsored by MAC to paint at a huge music festival using their products and think I'm being given these.

Yes WAY too small a container for working bodypainters!

And as usual way too pricey...

Still can't believe they thought calling it 'acrylic' was a good idea - we spend half of our time trying to educate people that normal acrylics are NOT GOOD on skin. This isn't going to help:(

  • Do these paints get all stiff on the skin after they dry? i am really liking these products:)

  • you like oily in this

  • @sandy10115 these AREN'T acrylics. try using a real acrylic paint on your skin! acrylics dry down stiff and flaky on the skin, these are formulated to be like a layer of "second skin." not all, but most acrylic paints are toxic. why mac named these acrylic paints is beyond me because acrylics are known to be bad for the skin and include plastic material. so why you would come in these comments and "call out" someone when you know absolutely nothing on the topic is very ignorant and rude.

  • are these good for an eyeshadow base?

  • CAN YOU PLEASE PLEASE DO A REVIEW IN USING THE BLACK ACRYLIC AS EYELINER?

  • Hey Koren! Thanks for the review..however..I wonder if you've ever tried mac chromacakes?? I've always wanted to try them out as I think they are more practical for body painting....I tried searching videos in YT about them however I didn't see one that thoroughly talked about them..what do you think about chromacakes.? I hope you can do an overview about them if you have/tried them... Thanks! :)

  • your rude!!! if you dont like to hear him dont watch it!

  • ur voice is so annoying!

  • I was curious about this product. Thank you so much for the demonstration. Very helpful.

  • I am going to be definately buying the black (best hygenic way to do black liquid liner) but I'm now contemplating getting all the colors. I do a lot of events/location shoots so keeping things small for my kit is essential. I don't see any reason why you couldn't decant these into smaller containers, like the Yaby tubes. Have you tried that? Transporting 12 Yaby tubes around in my kit is much better than 12 wide mouth acrylic jars! Less potential for mess too! Just squeeze out what you need!

  • Okay, so maybe it's not "real" acrylics, even though they call it acrylic, and not all the paint is safe to use everywhere. What concerns me is those silly people out there who will read MAC Acrylic and think "It must be okay" and go buy some craft paint and cause permanent scarring or anaphalactic shock (extreme, I know, but possible). Face and body painters have been fighting the acrylic battle for ages.

  • I wonder why they didn't create a white. White is used a lot in body painting, and it's essential for mixing.

  • @wereallmadhere9 they do have a white. if you look at the mac pro site they show it

  • Thanks for the review. Those are beautifully pigmented colors. :0)

  • stop using mylipstick... lol funny...

  • Gorgeous colors!

  • Perfect for Halloween but what other uses do you think they have to the average consumer?

  • @TracyChristian Its intended for Pros, = professionals

  • @TracyChristian The black one will be the best black liquid liner you will ever use in your life. And it will probably last you for YEARS.

  • Very nice thanks for sharing!

  • it's fantastic for a costume! love it

  • you're reviews are amazing! i like that you never say "i really like it because it's nice" like some other gurus

  • i really hate how i cant afford anything like this i wish i could

  • @shelties100998 Same:/ shitter innit.

  • wow .. love the color :) beautiful :)

  • @beautyxtwirler "Hey Koren stop using my LIPISTICK" LOL its supposed to be LIPSTICK right

  • @cindyarrra it is supossed to be lipstick but with the accent it comes out LIPISTICK now matter how hard you try to say it right . LOL .Most hispanics and asains with english as their 2nd language say it lyk dat.It sound so funny though. Most of my family says LIPISTICK. exept for a few of us.LOL

  • What does the end of your intro say? Lol.. I can't understand :(

  • and as an artist by trade i would like to say that all of those colors are real... besides rich purple and black black.... but process magenta is what you would get in the store... well maybe not orange... i dont think i have ever seen that sold as that color.... i think

  • @jessybangle001 it means that you should not put it on you eyes... or lips

it means that the pigment has not been aproved by the fda for such uses

  • O.M.G i need those! but i cant get them, i am no professional and there is no pro store near me...

  • @missrosiecass call any pro store, they will ship to you.

  • Great video! :0

  • when you said not safe to put on eyes on lips did you mean like not safe for lips in case you get it in your mouth of for skin or the eye area or did you mean like too intense for those areas?

i'd love if you answer my question,

    thx

  • @jessybangle001 the types of dyes used to make certain colors are not eye or lip safe, because your eyes and lips are mucous membranes which need to be treated carefully with dyes/colorants. So if the manufacturer says its NOT eye/lip safe, don't use it there! you could get a severe reaction.

  • I've used these Acrylic Paints for face painting at special birthday parties. Kids & adults alike love them! The colors come out bright and if a kid forgets and tries to wipe it away, it doesn't move at all! Great review and thanks for letting us know which colors aren't safe for what body part.

  • I love this stuff and great review i really enjoyed it <3

  • i love them !!

  • hi koren, I want to get a mac brush for applying eyeshadow on the lid , I got the 217 but it wastes product . which one would you recommend ?? I'm still on sponge tips and my fingers.. i got the elf one but i think it wastes product too . love you !!

  • Can you do a make up tutorial on how u would do a look with these?

  • You can buy acrylic face and body paint at Michaels and Walmart... you just have to make sure they are safe for skin, read the bottle... Paying $20 for this, simply for the Mac name is RIDICULOUS. Especially this time of year, with Halloween coming up you can get this stuff at almost any store for FAR cheaper...

  • @pebbles802 its not real acrylic paint duh!

  • @rachelcaban I know, that is what I was trying to say. All these people are freaking out about people buying real acrylic paint at Michaels and Walmart and using it on their faces. I was just stating that they do sell paints identical to this for far cheaper without the "Mac" name. I just think it is silly to pay so much for a name... duh!

  • way too small and too expensive, especially for a product that you can't use on the eyes and lips.

    thanks for the review !

  • is there a difference between cosmetic acrylic paints and regular acrylic paints? do you reccomend putting anything on underneath the paints so its easier to take off?

  • If they were the size of a Tempera paint bottle I would pay $20 per. Thank you so much for this in depth review Koren.

  • LMAO at the comments of getting acrylic paint from WalMart or Michael's.

Yes, the PRO products are expensive, but use real acrylic and your hospital bill will definitely surpass $20 a bottle.

    Idiots.

  • is it real acrylic paint?? O_O like what I use on paintings..?

  • @Aviisawierdo God no. They just call it acrylic because it's so pigmented and it's similar.

  • WOW great review your right there amazing!!! And worth the money for makeup artist that want face or body paint to not move or go anywhere! Its really hard to find a matte paint to not smudge or anywhere on the skin!

  • Can u use these as eyeliner? Other than the ones u can't put on ur eye. That black looks like it would stay on good.

  • Comment removed

  • I love the thoroughness of this tutorial!! Thumbs up!

  • 8:44 reminds me of like 20 flags

  • I heard that just a few drops can cover the whole face like air brush so I think the bottle would cover most if not all of the body

  • Seriously, people. They're not REAL acrylic paints... lol.

  • @ItsRipley ok then what are they smart ass

  • @thepipersgirl1 if you dont know about face painting then dont purchase them...the video is for people who do face painting and body painting not for those who dont isnt that obvious?

  • stop light on your hand!!

  • How strange that they didn't do a white one.

  • @joannadelilah They have a white

  • @hoppyhugs Thanks for letting me know, I thought it was odd :)

  • how do you remove it sorry I did not watch the whole video

  • I love your descriptions of colors:)

  • Maybe you can make like a shoe-box with compartments to hold the bottles snuggly and then you can just dab some of the paint on the top that way you know what color they are and you dont tip them.

  • I love the colors! Yeah, it's expensive, but most MAC products are, right?

  • It reminds me off the MUFE flash palette xD

  • Are these paints limited edition or are they permanent ?

  • you should get a container that can fit the whole bottle so that it wont tip over and its could be a palette for the paints.

  • Love the colors and your in-depth review, but HOLY CRAP! that's way too much for something like that. Such a tiny amount of product that can't even (in some cases) be used on eyes or lips. Not practical for someone who does a lot of full-body painting, and it's not useful as just eye or lip makeup. Why even put this out?

It just seems like something else for the Cult of MAC and other makeup snobs to spend buckets of money on. Don't really need to sell a kidney for good quality makeup.

  • @gloomilyeuphoric It's a PRO product for a reason.

  • @WasteofGlitter I don't think that changes much. You're still spending your own money on the makeup regardless of if you're getting paid for applying it.

  • @gloomilyeuphoric you ar right!hanks for your honest review comment.and THANKs to koren for letting us read what you gloomiyeuphoric-wrote and not erase it! -

  • @gloomilyeuphoric The only thing these are good for is body painters, or theater. Thats it. Its not practical for everyday use.

  • @gloomilyeuphoric holy crap doll what must you think of their other non pro products . you will pay almost 20 dollars for about the same size pigment container. pay less and most MOST Of the time get less. IM sure if this a pro using it they get a discount and dont pay the full 20 price. a little goes a long way and obviously you are using more airbrushing when you are doing full body painting. idk its my opinion..

  • @hhsswimmer21 Mac has great products I'm sure, but they're ridiculously overpriced. As someone who isn't working in the field, but buying makeup for my own personal use it seems pointless to pay through the nose for just the name. Even if I were working as a makeup artist, this product would be a waste (in my opinion) for the reasons I mentioned.

Unless it's labeled as airbrush makeup, I'd NEVER put a product through a machine. Sounds like a good way to ruin an Airbrush...

  • @gloomilyeuphoric didnt mean to type airbrushing these are not for that they are paints hehehe. i meant u would need more of this particular product like if you were doing full body painting in which case you'd prob want to go with those products you mentioned like ben nye i believe some of their amounts are larger. buuut. if you were to compare mac against a Multitude of others out theri you'd find the price is really median. for example MUFE concealer will run you 30 studiofix is 16.50

  • @gloomilyeuphoric Well I think it's more for theatrical/stage makeup which is why it's in the Pro product line; Somewhat like Ben Nye or Kryolan.

  • theres no white.....?

  • @plnrz yes but he didnt get it.

  • Thank you for this video !

    I have 2 questions.

The first one is, how easy is it to work with them. Do they dry fast ?! For body painting they look amazing because they seem to set beautifully. But I'm wondering if they are easy to work for blendings and fadings. I use Mehron or Kryolan for face/body painting. Are they harder to work with ?!

My second is, how would you compare them to the Mehron liquid paints ?!

    Thanks again !

  • Can I use them as lip colors?

  • @Ronnibee all of the except the green, blue, purple ones.. but they'll dry out your lips fast.. and you'd have to apply chapstick/nivia kiss of moisture or another oil based moisturizer (since their aren't any water based ones lol) and thus, you'd loosen it up.. so moisturize them before hand overnight.. it shouldnt turn out bad, but DEFINITELY line the outside of your lips with vaseline so that the color doesn't bleed. if it does it won't come off with ease.

  • Hi Koren, great review as usual, thank you so much for doing it, nice bold colors and great finnish. Just one quick question.

Can you spray them through an airbrush?

And also wondering...Funny there's no white in the collection :S

And what would you say the base is?? if I wanted to thin it what woul I have to add to it? and would you say it's possible to fade it out or is it only meant to be used in this bold way?

  • @letybid sorry I'm not Koren, but I'll answer and hope that suffices. No, you can't put them through an airbrush. Its not intended to be used with an airbrush, which uses either alcohol based makeup (for body paint) or silicone based (for beauty/face makeup). Yes, there is a white (he didn't get it). Its a polymer base, which is what tubing mascaras are and some liquid liners currently on the market.

  • I didnt think acrylic paint was safe to use on the skin??

  • @samjones0528 this is not toxic. intended for use on the skin.

  • What would you use for white? Don't they have white in this kind of paint? Thanks for sharing they look great.

  • Hi Enkore.. Are you pinoy/ I'm just curious and thought you're pinoy because of what the lady says during your intro, "hoy koren, stop using my lipistick" . Anyway, I ♥ your videos.. Keep it up!

  • @tix313 lol, it was his momma :)

  • do you think you'd be able to color your hair with it, and have it wash out?

  • I don't have a pro card but it would have been nice to see a white color in this collection like for halloween or for mixing it with colors to brighten them!

  • hey koren,

i was just wondering how you would remove the acrylic paints if they have such a good staying power? oil-based make up remover? and would you use the same for removing it from your brushes? thank you very much :)

  • amazing! I've had these sitting in my cart FOREVER!!! I'm finally gonna buy! Thank you again for another extremely informative video!

  • Puwahahaha... Just in time for HALLOWEEN!!! :D

  • Hey, Koren! Do you think these can be thinned out/tinted with the Face and Body White? While the pigmentation looks fantastic, and the longevity on the skin is marvelous, it still seems as though Chromacakes might be more economical for full-body work for something that might not have to stay on for hours on end, although it looks like a little bit of the Acrylics goes a LONG way!

  • nice ty

  • thnks that was great.

  • @Icecreamdoodle7773

    WOW.. im the 301 viewers!

  • I love your vids :)

  • lol first three swatches looked like Jamaica xD

  • Great review! I was wondering about these paints

  • finally someone did a review i have the purple one...ok now soo i wanna see someone use the matte mixing medium!!! ( did u get it??)

yes and once they set..there is nooo blending even as a base really pretty tho!!

  • I think this is a little ridiculous of MAC...$20 for acrylic paint? Really? I pay about $7 for 300g of perfect, vibrant, non-toxic acrylic paint at my local art store. I think this product is just a sad cash grab.

  • your teeth are so white!! do you whiten them or anything?? what are your suggestions on keeping them so white?

  • Are these comparable to MAKE UP FOREVER Aquarelle?

  • :: happy dance :: EEEEEEEEEEEE!

  • Hi Koren, I have a suggestion about knocking the bottles over. why not place magnets on the bottom, and creat yourself a special board, like a painters pallet, which is wide enough not to knock over easily. then you could attach all of the bottles to that, and remove them if needed. these colours look amazing, i was wondering if you could use them in nail art? with a clear top coat. love ya Em x

  • beautiful colors!!! and teal is also my favorite color XD

  • can u pls explain the types of lip sticks and what the effects like for example a frost or satin etc. pls pls pls

  • acrylic...for the body? isn't that bad? artists use it on paper, not skin...its liquid plastic, so are there ingredients in it that are not harmful?

  • @sxyredheadxx No, acrylic paint is non-toxic.

  • how could you use these? as body paints?

  • Koren, one question: why your left eyelid looks kind of greenish? And thanks for the review.

  • why are you not able to use them in eye or lip area?

  • very pigmented!

  • I've been wanting to see these. I saw that someone asked if you could use these as a base. I wondered what a powder would look like over that. Seems like the consistency is so different that a powder would have a hard time adhering.

Last question, is a brush the only way to apply it? Can you apply this using an airbrush? Thank you so much for doing this tut!

  • Oh Are these waterproof...for synchronized swimming competitions?

  • @lovnsmiley yup. waterproof.. you need oil to loosen them/take them off (its oil based)

  • Of course, my favorite Rich Purple isn't safe for eyes or lips

    sob

  • The entire time you were talking about spilling the bottles & you were moving it around--I was freaking out thinking it was going to spill! I was like "OH NO!!!" I'm an artist & I can't STAND wasting my paint so I was holding my breath while you moved the bottle around lol

  • I may have missed it if you said it, because I have a really short attention span (lol), but, can you mix MAC pigments into these?

  • oh Yah acrylic paints!! cant wait to get a few!! Thanks Enkore♥

  • You're going to IMATS Toronto, right?

Out of all the "gurus", your classes/presentations are the ones that I would most like to go to.

  • These are very cool, thanks for the info. To be honest as a body painter/face painter I'd rather stick with a paint thats safe for mouth and eyes. And with my snazaroo paints I get full coverage, all I need to set it is a makeup setting spray. Though red has been known to stain, it's safer and even if you get it in your mouth it's safe.

Though I do want to try these out. The price seems was too high for it to be practical pro or not. Though Ireally love the fact that they don't smear.

  • I'm guessing you had a very severe form of nodular acne...

    poor soul

  • Not really relevant to anything, but I love the way you say "sooo"..

  • when it dries, is the paint flexible? as in if you move, will it chip off or anything?

  • you should do a video washing the acrylic paints off your hand!!

  • guwh!!!! been waiting for these for so long!

I WANT! I guess I'd better hop to it then!

  • is it weird that i love watching his videos because of his fangs? lol, and his talent too but his teeth are so cool (:

  • can you do a tutorial on them

    please

  • why not just go to walmart or micheals and just buy acrylic paint for $2 a bottle instead of getting a really small bottle with the name mac on it

  • @whatsITwithmegan thats what I do lol

  • @whatsITwithmegan wow... -_- no. these are actually made to go on human skin, that stuff isnt obviously.

  • @whatsITwithmegan thats not acrylic paint... it's a pro product very resistant.

  • @whatsITwithmegan I think you getting a bit confused about the paint. This paint isn't what you would get at walmart. Normal acrylic paint should never be applied to the skin!!!!

  • @whatsITwithmegan Those are NOT skin safe just because they are non-toxic. Please don't do this.

  • @WasteofGlitter ITA with you. PEOPLE: "Non-toxic" just means that it won't hurt you if you INGEST IT. Its meant as a precaution for children who might use it (like say an art class) and get some on their hands/put their fingers in their mouth (you know how kids want to eat everything). Art paints are not tested for use on skin so "non-toxic" doesn't mean you won't get a rash or severe case of dermatitis if you slather it on your face. I swear, I can't believe people are so completely dense....

  • @whatsITwithmegan Because there are harmful additives in non-cosmetic versions.

  • @whatsITwithmegan Because it's not REAL acrylic paint. That's just the name.

  • @whatsITwithmegan Hahaha. Because mac is cosmetic. Meaning safe for the face and eyes. Real acrylic paint is just asking for poisoning and never getting it off.

  • Are they removable with the MAC Wipes?

  • Koren, you are such a doll! Thank you for another wonderful video, I am always so excited when I see a new Enkore video!

  • Why are those colors not safe for mouth or eye area?

  • Comment removed

  • lol sorry i have another question. Can you mix any of the acrylic paints to make your own color, if so then could you just buy the 3 primary colors and go from there ?

  • ok mac makeup is really just stupid! you could simply go to walmart and get the same thing for cheaper!!

  • @PeaceandLuvBby really not.

  • @PeaceandLuvBby mac is not stupid. you're stupid. seriously, go hate somewhere else, it's not mac's fault you can't afford them.

  • @PeaceandLuvBby but they are not real acrylic!!!! you cant put acrylic on our skin!!!!

  • i have a question why cant you use certain colors on your eye lids and some on your lips ? is it because of the color chemicals that are dangerous if ingested ? and the same with pigments

  • Love those colors and great idea on the mixing.

  • everyday makeup is changing. we want intensity. the "everyday" makeup look today is rote and mask-like. give us makeup liberty.

  • Damn I was hoping it was a nail polish that didn't chip...lol! Just based on the title of the vid. When mac can make one of those I'll be the 1st in line! But this product looks cool I love ALL things make-up even though I would have no use for this product I love all your vids!

  • i'll never use these, but very useful video! gorgeous colors!

  • I have a question....Are you able to put glitter on the paint while it is still wet, and will it stay???

  • i feel as though mac should have waited to release this range until they had an enitre range available to use ALL OVER the face, even if the products are fantastic, wouldnt it seem more logical to buy a comparable range you can use on eyes and lips also?

  • They're missing the most important shade- white! When I paint, white is always the colour I use the most of!

  • i wish that they would make white!

  • @EnKoreMakeup are the paints waterproof? or if you go out into the rain will you start melting LOL?

  • Tutorial using these? :) pleeeease

  • your skin looks really good in the vid..nice peachy color. :)

  • these are just like the ben nye paints...lame!
