This was excellent. It proved my point about this film. It really wasn't about very much. And the whole theme of "carpe diem" has been explored multiple times in prior films and done much better. I'm receiving flack from all the Dead Poet diehards who loved this film and everything about it. If only they were capable of deeper insight and more demanding of their entertainment. Alas, they settle for average.

Oh, I really don't believe that at all. I just made this for humorous purposes. This is an incredible movie. It may not be artsy-fartsy or really incredibly detailed, but it is a story, and nothing more. A story of hope, of inspiration, and of life. And I think it's beautiful. It doesn't have to be Speilberg to be good . . .it was up for Best Picuture in 1989
