I think it was the wind that lifted him off the ground meaning he did not intend on taking off in the first place lol some of the comments act like he did this deliberately, when it looked to me more like an unintentional accident. he was hanging upside down which indicates to me like he was trying to sit down to create drag.. thus not taking off but the wind was to strong and lifted him up anyways and thats how he got to be upside down. I find it funny he died laughing thats how I wanna go out.

For every flying creature or device, the nearness of the ground is the most dangerous place to be in. A take of like this or any other kind of "look at me maneuver" near the groud is extremely risky. Doing this in strog conditions like Valadares is nothing but suicide...even for experienced pilots... A silly, unnecessary and last act.

Condolances to his family and friends . A needless and stupid death for someone who had a lot on knowledge to share about this sport . Launching and landings are no place to do stunts . No launch or landing is ever routine . Perform each one with your complete focus and you will enjoy flying for a long time in this sport .

There should be no denial of what can happen when people choose to make very, very poor decisions. This video allows all of us to do that, thus acting to prevent other people from making very, very poor decisions that further malign the sport.

Though its sad to hear of a death, what you really need to think of, is that this is paragliding as opposed to paramotor, which I think that the motor is a lot more safer to fly as you are not governed by wind. I think that if he had a motor on his back he would possibly still be alive today.

I still think that paramotor/trikes are the safest way to travel.

More safer than a car, motorcycle, airliner. Plus it is nicer too!

Im sure he never expected that turnout, but it is very obvious this stunt was done on purpose. it was a decision made by the pilot. Unfortunately people who dont paraglide think it was a accident and so they tell others "O Its a Dangerous Sport!"

Its disappointing that is what people take away from this video & share instead of Wow paragliders are so safe they fly themselves until the pilot pulled on the back of the riser which we know will cause a collapse. he knew risk sad it was bad outcome

Taking off like this without the brake lines in the hands (and thus not being able to control the glider) while also hanging upside down on purpose is definitely ‘not a good idea’!

But you’re jumping into conclusions when you say paragliding is a dangerous sport based on this movie.
