I haven't played the Karma, so I can't compare, but the M50 I have, which is the one in the video, is the base model and the keys are very light. Definitely not going to be its strong point, but I guess that's the trade off with the synth being so cheap. I got mine for less than a grand, new.
@zzzxtreme The keys are light, you get lots of spring noise and the action feels rubbish. But the rest of the keyboard is brilliant and overall it's great value for money. The primary selling point for me though was the unbelievable lightness.
In general Korg is very poor when it comes to marketing. Even their offical website does not load fast enough for some reason and no improvement has been done for several yrs. It is easy to find any Yamaha product information on the web specially when it comes to Motif, they are doing a wonderful job. Posting on Youtube is free if Korg or Roland can't use it to their advantage, I would say there must be something fishy about their product. No confidence!
I agree with you guys on the marketing. They are just not trying.. And it's not because they're stuff is rubbish either. I have a few korg synths, and they are awesome. The RADIAS is fantastic. Also had the Kaoss pad3 and that too was really well built and sweet. Compared to my Waldorf Blofeld (which is an awesome synth, not bashing it) the radias is built like a tank.
Korg should get jordan rudess to do some more videos for them. Not sure if his vids are official, but they are hellafunny
Another great demo. These are the sort of demo's Korg should have been putting out. The official one on their site tells you nothing really and in fact will probably put a lot of people off! KorgM50Guy hit's the spot again. Nice work :)
This is a very cool keyboard. I just played at Guitar Center (for about an hour). I currently use a Roland Juno G as my primary box (supported by a Micron, XP10, Memorymoog, and Seq. Cir. 6 track). I like the Juno G, but really like Korg synthesis and may either trade the Jumo G, or just add the M50. Great video(s)...thanks.
No, I don't work for Korg. I just got the M50, was really impressed, and made this quick demo just to show how it sounds. When I was trying to find info on-line about it, I couldn't find anything that really showed how the dual arpeggiators stacked up against the M3's Karma function, so when I bought the M50 I thought I'd make a simple demo to show that. I do video work professionally, so I was able to make the Korg logo intro etc.
Nice, real nice! I'm thinking of getting this over the "cool, but do I really need all that kit?" M3. Sounds like I can save myself a whole heap of cash...
I have the korg m50, and i give it a 5 star rating. Best Keyboard ive ever used.

What does the combi feature do?
mattliebl6199 1 year ago
From 1,10 to 1,25 the music reminds me of John Foxx - 1980's electro rock

@michael72401 Either that or a snipet of Gary Numan

i know its not a sampler but, is there anyway of getting you own drum sounds in this thing?
maltcus 2 years ago
I don't think so... you can generate your own sounds from scratch, but you can't load external sounds, like a sampled wav file or something.
