to the earlier confusion they did use a 76 with a 77 front end on some stunts like burnouts,360s,etc,etc for the added power of the bb 455 that was discontinued after 76 you can tell when they show the rims in some shots their 76 15x7 honey combs that were only used on the trans am during 76 and discountinued that same year

i put in the "increase car speed" cheat, looked for a phoenix, went to transfender and painted it blk with blk strip, and made a bandit video of that car as the trans am. Try it, i think it is just as cool as the rig.

rofl.. get the gta mod wich lets you multiplay in the gta world with NPC's, though you can only see each other, you can't see the npc's of your friends client so your in a parallell world, but you can see each other and then one can drive the trans am and have the cops at chase, while the other player is driving the trailer.

Please give links to the scenes with the 76, or at least tell us which ones to look for. I've no doubt they COULD have used a 76 MODEL for some shots (from behind most likely, because of those ROUND headlights) simply because GM only gave them THREE 77's to shoot with, but the car most closely associated with the film IS the 77, looks and all. Incidentally, I own a 77, built October 1976, but it stays in storage sadly. And it will always be a 77.

hey, that car stayed around for 3 years, so you are kind of wrong and kind of right....same as Utubepersonz. The car is considered a 76...but they kept that model for 3 years, and changed it is 79. The car is a 76, 77, and 78, because of its 3 years in production, and ended its production with a 1979 Trans Am. So ya, Utubepersonz is right (not saying you are wrong). Hey, did you know there will be a 2009 model Trans Am? I saw a pic of it online.
