There was a bomb placed inside the ship that blew up a while after he crashed on the planet and Hulk believed it was the Illuminati (Dr. Strange, Namor, Iron Man, Professor X, Mr. Fantastic) who placed it there. Don't want to ruin the comics but I will say this: Planet Hulk was good. World War Hulk...Total let down.

let down as in nothing really happened. No1 died...and they tried to explain that throughout hulks rampaging no1 has ever died...give me a break...and he could have been killed by Dr. Strange if he wanted to, even states it in the comic he could end hulk with 1 word. Everyone was surmising it would come down to the Hulk vs Sentry and everyone thought no way it's too obvious...it was.
To be more precise, his anger and strength increased so rapidly because of the shock after the revelation that it became too much for the planet to bear (note that this still was far from Hulk's full potential, only faster), so he let Tony Stark hit him with a satellite system that counteracted gamma radiation. If he would have resisted the satellites, they probably wouldn't work either (not that it wouldn't matter anyway as the planet would be cracked into powder before they could affect him).
Why was WWH a disappointment? Did you want it to turn out differently? Or do you think it shouldn't have been made and that Hulk should have been allowed to live in peace on Sakaar?
It was a let down because I wanted something else to happen. Everyone I talked to about it thought it would end the way it did which is a cop-out?, i think. There was a bomb placed inside the ship that blew up a while after he crashed on the planet and Hulk believed it was the Illuminati (Dr. Strange, Namor, Iron Man, Professor X, Mr. Fantastic) who placed it there. Don't want to ruin the comics but I will say this: Planet Hulk was good. World War Hulk...Total let down.

let down as in nothing really happened. No1 died...and they tried to explain that throughout hulks rampaging no1 has ever died...give me a break...and he could have been killed by Dr. Strange if he wanted to, even states it in the comic he could end hulk with 1 word. Everyone was surmising it would come down to the Hulk vs Sentry and everyone thought no way it's too obvious...it was.

To be more precise, his anger and strength increased so rapidly because of the shock after the revelation that it became too much for the planet to bear (note that this still was far from Hulk's full potential, only faster), so he let Tony Stark hit him with a satellite system that counteracted gamma radiation. If he would have resisted the satellites, they probably wouldn't work either (not that it wouldn't matter anyway as the planet would be cracked into powder before they could affect him).

It was a let down because I wanted something else to happen. Everyone I talked to about it thought it would end the way it did which is a cop-out?, i think. Hulk comics have never really been up to snuff with the rest of the comics but planet hulk was awesome. Granted I only collected hulk comics in the early 90s-98 then Planet Hulk and WWH...

For people who are fighting over superman vs hulk, it would be very even. The victory would be determined by outside forces. For example, if they fought very close to a yellow sun, supes would win. If the Hulk found a kryptonite sword, he would win. and so on.
