Doug E has that Jamaican African Background, which adds to his style of Beat Boxing, he was the first, the original, coined the phrase, there are some others at his time, that are just as good, but still not better than Doug E Fresh. He's a humble guy, so he stepped in the back for this performance, as he should

I remember recently seeing a guy on American Idol where he sung and beatboxed at the same time. It pissed me off so much because it gave me the impression that he had no respect for beatboxing. To me, it felt that he only did it cuz he didn't have the skill to win with singing alone and only used beatboxing as a tool for fame instead of respecting it like an art.
