very nice -- you can't have a better mentor than roger hawkins -- i've loved this drum part since it came out -- particularly in the latter part of the song when roger switches over to the bell of the ride cymbal...great groove...and of course the magnificent aretha singing throughout...thanks for posting.

@asandl Thanks for watching! I agree, he rides this song out so great at the end. The groove has an whoel propulsion thing. I think Gadd might've been influenced by this, when he came up with the end of "Aja"The whole Muscle Shoals crew could sure lay down some mean tracks. I really love the groove and vocals of " I Never Loved a Man" too.
