@01Chitoman Actually in the snow you want to have your tyres fully inflated so it is narrower and cuts through the snow to get to something with some traction. If you have deflated them you'll just be compacting the snow making it much harder to get traction.

I thought this video was funny when I first saw it, sadly the car I am driving this winter has ABS that does not have independent control of each wheel. It is frustrating in the extreme to be sliding with the ABS making it WORSE. I drove for many years in these conditions without ABS and later with ABS. But this car (2009) model has ABS so bad I am tempted to pull the fuse out.
Well my car is probably under 3000lbs, but point taken. However my other car which is older has proper traction control and independent braking on each wheel.
I believe "ESP" is one makers name for it but it has been around for a long time.
I know it is very scary with the new car that if just one wheel slides it releases the brakes on all of them, trust me this is scary!
@g0fvt normally "esp" and abs only adjust the braking power to prevent sliding uncontrolled, but i never heard of one that completely release all brakes before, thats just retarded, then you would be better off without it, if you really want to disable it you could just disconnect one of the wheel sensors, what car do you have btw?

I drive a foreign car that handles great in snow/ice and I have much less problems with them then some people I know who have american cars that are newer.
the white sedan at around 2:14 is going way too fast, it's ridiculous. There is an SUV stopped up ahead, plus like 4+ cars that have just crashed, FULL SPEED AHEAD! I think people don't always remember that even with abs and traction control you can still slide and go out of control.

Second. They are driving waaay too fast for the driving conditions in the first case since it's obviously slippery.

@g0fvt the abs only prevent you from blocking the wheels and becoming a 3000lbs+ sled,
the system preventing you from sliding sideways by braking each wheel separately is called esp
