  • I've seen that suit with my own eyes, it is on display at the sminithsonian museum in washington dc.

    but the materials have indeed changed my friend.....that is part of the reason men can now do such 'high risk' work on stations with more safety for example...ie.mobility born from modern materials.

    Much of the materials used 'back then' have no place in the modern suit. Some of the fire/pressure ratings of some materials used in the 60's are just not acceptable in the new century...without boring you with details.

    They may look similar in colour, but are very diferent beasts.

    ummm....wrong sir.

    Incredible changes in just the few years of the Apollo moon missions saw the first suits go from 3 hr duration, to the 'J' mission suits with upto and above 7hrs duration....and that was in just 4 years!!!! Not to mention 'mobility' and backup improvements!..

    Anyways....stay cool.
