  • sometimes i press my back brake to hard on accident... and i skid.

  • what bike is it? how old is the shock/oil/spring..5000 miles is old for shock oil, depends on how hard you ride too... and make sure the suspension set up is correct for your weight, good luck! I ride them at 42 psi, 200 lb guy.....

  • I have had no problem with them! Always going to go with pilot powers! Actuaully just changed changed my tires to PP's even thought my old tires only had 350 miles on them!

  • 1700 miles on a rear 2ct is my max been using these for a nearly 4 years wont use anything else ..

  • you sound like Robin Williams in ms. Doubtfire...

  • guys, its the angle they put in the roadway to clear rain reflecting in your tyre..

  • I run 35f & 38-40r on my pilots never seen this wear pattern b4,i try to use as many b roads as possible for my journeys if possible to slow down squaring off on the tyre.Your tyre looks like its scrubbing across the road surface u could check for rear axle misalignment..anyways hope u get it sorted chug...

  • and in answer to previous comments: the rim is true and round, the suspension is working well and has been setup by me and then checked by a recognised suspension tuning company. the wheels/tyre combo was balanced at fitting and still had the weights attached (i.e none had fallen off) I run std pressures of 36F and 42R.

no skidding or burnouts (you must be kidding at THESE prices!!)

  • well believe it or not - Ive got another video coming (as soon as Ive charged my cell phone) of strange wear on a 2CT FRONT!!!!!

    bizarre!

  • i only get 3,000 miles out of my Pilot powers. lol

  • it a balance issue had the same thing a the factory rubber thought I could feel some thing and let it go and it end the same as you got there make sure they balance them when they fit the tyres . it a good way of selling more tyres

  • I have replied to this video 5 months ago and I was at 4700 miles. I love this tire!

  • I have a 2004 cbr F4i and i purchased these in May 2010 and i have logged in around 9250 miles and still have tread left. I am going to purchase these again

  • Time for a burnout?! ;)

  • what psi are you running for that tire and the front.?

  • could be a rear shock absorber problem or the rim is oval

  • maybe a fabrication flaw..

  • wth.... i have the regular Pilot Power with about 8k miles , they look almost the same in the middle. I thought these 2CTs are suppost to last alot longer?

  • @MaxPayne19146

i know im a bit late with my answer, still: the 2cts only got softer flanks compared to the regular pp´s the middle strip is the same. and 8k miles is impressive, i get hardly 5k out of mine.

  • @lintna

ooooooooo thanks , good to know

  • what r u complaining about you, i ve never done more than 3000km's with those, and that is no 1500miles. it all depends on your ridingstyle.

if you ride like a 80year old grandma you can do more than 2000miles.

  • @rasqo3 I would love to see that :D

  • you dont skid and flat spot half the circumference of the tire...

  • Holy crap, i run power pure 2ct's and going on 8500 right now? My suspension is set for my weight 190 lbs.

  • He rides very hard to get only 3500k out of that tire...

  • OK...... At one time you skidded and flat spotted the tire

  • really? 3511 miles? I'm on 4700 at the moment and the treads are still new

  • suspension, air presure, riding style and breaking...thats all u must know to set to enlarge the usefull life on the rubbers

  • Your ass is too heavy for the suspension setup :o) Get the bike set for your weight..Make shure your tyre is inflated properly..Thats all u need to do..Maby a slight chance that the guy who mounted it didnt put it on rite, but not likely i think.

  • there are many possible cousies, that coul be:

    -rear suspension set-up

    -not correct bilanced wheel

-it could be the rear brake that it could be not in plane. In this case, the braking power is not uniform in the round of the rubber.

    - the lastone, but is improbily, the tire failed

sorry for my english, if isn't correct...I'm Italian ;-) lamps&gas!!

  • Suspension set up, that's the cause of the uneven wear.

Get it set up for your weight and riding style.

  • locked up the wheel at one point without knowing it? :S that could be a possiblity?

  • ran out of balance... and your rear shock probably needs tuning...

  • maybe the rim and ryre combination ist out of balance?

  • maybe his locking his rear tire, did the front have the same problem? probably not, just dont lock your rear tire

  • had the same thing with the front tire. 2ct

  • Just go buy a new tire.

  • stop sliding on the back tire

  • Could be anything from improper wheel balance weight placement, to too little suspension rebound, to improper tire pressure. Most likely rebound. If you don't have rebound adjustment you could try a heavier oil, but that will affect your compression as well. You should figure out what it is and put another set on.. Those are good tires.

  • this one wear? this one wear? this one wear? this one wear? this one wear? this one wear? this one wear? this one wear? this one wear?

  • suspension not set up right but most likely your tire is out of balance, rim could be bent, axle could be out of round, if its a single sided swing arm(dont know much about them) but whatever kind of axle that runs could be bent or out of round

  • trackday rider here & i run Pilot Power as well, try adjusting your suspension it will cause uneven wear on your tires if not tuned properly & run higher pressures on it as the tire casing is soft.

before i used to run 30/28 psi track & develop some scalloping on the edges of the groves but after i upgraded my suspension & raised my pressures to 32/32 the wear started to even out & the scalloping is almost gone.

tire wears a lot longer now & my wallet is happy & so am i. :D

  • I am looking at buying a new set now, i have 2ct rear and std power at front. The front has worn really aggressivly on one side only... causing deformation of shape.... weird really and have herd it is common problem for pilot powers??? Looking @ power2ct or maybe power ones but scared they may be too soft.

  • power 2cts all the way and chuggy thats mad wonder why its done that, maybe a dodgey tyre lol

  • trail braking will do that. And to Ninja 6 kid, I guess everyone has prefrences wich is cool but I love power 2ct's more than anything and the only tire I haven't ridden are the conti's

  • Add a few clicks of Rebound damping into your shock. Once the oscillations begin to take effect on your tire, the uneven wear grows quickly.

  • I have a Metzeller M-1 rear on my SV650 and it has a similar uneven wear pattern. And the rear of the bike oscillates a little when I go through high-speed corners, if the road is not in perfect condition.

Sadly, SV don't have any rebound damping adjustment. Don't know, if more preload will cure the oscillations? Going to order new tires and want to sort out the suspension a little, if possible...

  • Hmm, I have a 180/55/17 on my '06 CBR600RR. I ride very aggressively in the twisties putting about 100miles of twisties every weekend. I do have 2CT's and I commute to work and school. My wear is amazingly balanced and tread is very well. I keep my psi for weekdays at 37f 37r. Weekends 34f 33r. I'd suggest a pilot road with harder compound for an average rider. Saves yourself money too.

  • Just out curiousity, do you use your rear brake too much (i.e skid)? Or did you have the tire underinflated? Your wearing seems really strange

  • it's called cupping. u will have various high wear patterns usually more prevalent on front tires

  • not suprising coming from michellin.fuck michellin man...2 years ago i got a speedwoble 4 days after getting new 2cts,wrote off the bike... turns out michellin hada recal on the tire because it cauld cause instability at high speed...GEE THANXS MICHELIN!!.be it bike car or truck i NEVER buy michellin and i advise everyone to do the same.whata company that has such great marketing and such a crappy product.

  • The new PowerOne race tire is superb.
