  • does anyone know how to use this in HP Probook 4510s ????

I know for sue this has an accelometer

  • COOOOOOOOOOOL

  • Does anybody know if the R40 has the motion sensor??? Thats the kind of laptop that I have...

  • now what's the point in the thinkpad having an accelerometer?

  • So it detects when theres an acceleration, to stop the HDD and protect it from damage.

  • its a netbook...made to carry..the hdd aint suffers any damage even when the netbook is upside down.-.read after before barking shit, please

  • @TheSpyChecker its not a netbook...... dont make(......) making it look like you know what your talking about because you dont, its Called Hdaps (hard drive active protection system, IBM and Lenovo thinkpads have it. im not sure what other companys have it. but its not and......................netbook..............

  • @MLGGatewayGuy its a fucking netbook

  • @TheSpyChecker stfu no its not you clearly have autism. do your research before you pretend to be smart....

  • @TheSpyChecker Its an UltraLight if anything

  • @MLGGatewayGuy ok just tell me what it is, if not a netbook, and tell me, why the other 2 thousand reviews on the net say its a netbook....but ah,i know that a youtube comment ALWAYS knows better then the whole world itself. just prove it. send me a link, that says its not a netbook.

  • @TheSpyChecker here you go you fucking plug, and no 2 thousand reviews dont say its a netbook holy autisum.net

  • lol thats hilarious, though a bit unwieldy.

also, that game looks better than I thought it was, its one of those linux games that I've just never tried

  • Nice! how the hell did you manage to do that? What linux box are you running btw?

  • interesting, but pretty pointless... ;p

  • It's to lock up the HDD and protect it against fall damage. i think that's the point.

  • lmao nice

  • I have a T23. Will it work on this one, too?

  • lol

    i love this game

  • Will that work on all IBM thinkpads? Or just the new ones?

  • pretty sure they introduced active protection system on the T40, so anything after that will have the accelerometer in it. T41, T42, T43, T60, T61, T400/T500, R52, R60, R61, X series probably with the X40/X41 and on.

  • how can I play Tux Racer with my Thinkpad using the motion sensor? can someone help me please?

  • I did that before ,you can find it for XP. I think just type Tux Racer and download it from google. I found a website and they gave me a .dll file to change for the game. I dont clearly remember because i did it earlier this year with my Thinkpad R60. The problem is that the laptops heavy!

  • you can get it from fedora core 2 its really hard to find it on the other linux os's

  • you, sir, are an idiot.

  • fedora it's hard and not compatible with most program i use in ubuntu

  • yay mandriva 09...

  • awesome!! how can i get it?

  • awesome!! go Tux. its a shame that its very difficult to find tux racer these days. only the opensource derivatves of the pre 1.0 version.

  • That's weird it doesn't show up in Portage (if you're a Gentoo user). I've heard it went proprietary (or was it one of its offshoots?), but while checking out the official site (Google ;-) ), it doesn't appear to be so.

There must be a reason, though.

  • I remember back in the day when I got Mandrake, the 'Tux Racer' website had a good version which was version 1 point something. The free one was 0.9. The proprietary one was much much better. Had way better Tux model & smoother animation & nice handling. Even had reflection mapping or whatever ya call it.

  • Ummm, it's all about the motion sensing these days isn't it :D. Not so practical on my 17" inch bohemoth though :/

  • look at the video response - accelerometers added onto a laptop for the same purpose - you can do it too !
