  • i just knew about this art.. THANK GOD <3

  • You are such a good teacher, I hope to see many quilling videos from you. TFS

  • I love this video!Thanks, I'll try it!

  • could you please tell me in what kind of stores I can find quilling paper rollers???

  • @cerise333 Here in Belgium at Schleiper art shops, otherwise on the site of quilledcreation

  • This is one of the best and clearest videos. Can you show us how to do eccentric quilling?

  • @ValdostaGal Thanks so much! I'm happy that you liked it! This weekend maybe I'll have some time to make a video for you on the excentric quilling! It is very easy... take care! Kati :)

  • Many many thanks for this tutorial. Very clear, very didatic.

  • Beautiful, well done and inspirational..I will have to do these for next christmas !

    cheers

    dave m

  • by the way: have you uploaded the video about how to do with the tooth pick? I can't find it any where - Merci Beaucoup en avance!

  • I have a question - Don'y they unravel when you touch them? we didn't glue the end that was in the quilling pen so then there's a chance it can become undone w - has it happened to you?

  • @EeeJay007 The end that was in the tool is never glued.. excepted if you want to do it on a special board with a needle, then when a the shape is done, sometimes you can gently pull the center towards one side and use a tiny bit of glue to make it stay there.. but then you have to keep the needle in the board until the shape is dry... Not easy to explain... otherwise sometimes the circle can loosen a bit inside, but it is still pretty... I'll do a tutorial on it and the tooth pick soon..

  • very nice tutorial and nice creations too....i love them. Thank you for sharing :-)

  • @bahallaka You are very welcome! I'm happy that you like it!:)

  • PADRISSSSIMO!!! MUY INGENIOSO, GRACIAS Y FELICIDADES POR TU TALENTO

    SALUDOS DESDE DALLAS, TEXAS.

  • Fantastic tutorial! Thanks

  • These are really awesome!Really love them!!!! I was wondering if I could use some other tool instead of this qulling tool, maybe crochet or something similar :)

  • @sanshamala I've already tried to make a tool like this with a toothpick, but it is not easy and even a toothpick is much larger then this tool. You have to have something that is very thin with a cut in the middle where you can get your paper stuck...it is very simple but not so easy to find. I'll make a video on it soon to show the toothpick thing for all those who don't have a tool. If you are comfortable with buying thing from the internet, you should check out the quilledcreations site

  • awesome

  • Beautiful!

  • these are all lovely... i taught myself the basics last years after seeing a finished product in a craft shop went home thought about it and messed around with coloured paper .i made flowers etc and i made peacock feathers which my mums holds in a pot on her mantle

  • I think your Christmas decorations you made are very beautiful. My question is since they are so delicate what do you hang them with? I think this would be a great project for recently married families that don't have a lot of decorations for their tree yet. Couples just starting out don't have extra money for expensive decorations and this could be some thing very simple for them to make for the tree to make it look beautiful. thank you for sharing this.

  • @CashingInOnChristmas You can use a carpet thread or what they call upholstery thread. It is very durable and will hold out. Good luck.... And have fun.

  • @CashingInOnChristmas Sorry that i answer you so late...

I just hang them with the common metallic hooks that everybody uses here in Europe.. That is the simplest way. But for my christmas cookies for exemple I use just a green sawing thread, si that it is invisible on the tree... one of my sisters like to hang her dcorations with golden thread but that is too visible for me.. I like to see the decorations most, not the thread. ;)

  • @CashingInOnChristmas you can also get a spray from any craft store to make them more durable. I like " triple thick" and I usually get a high gloss one just because I like the finish look for it

  • I just bought a beginner's set from Quilled Creations, and strugled a bit with understanding the basics. So it was great to see it! And I loved the things you made! Going to look through the rest of your quilling videos now! :)

    Good job!

  • @tiram80 My other videos are not bad either! ;)

Thanks for watching and have fun! :)

  • Aloha...

This is a beautifully done video!

I just learned about quilling/twirling from a Klutz book/kit called "Twirled Paper". It comes with a book of simple projects, 100 strips of paper of many colors, a quilling/twirling pen, and some really bad glue. (be sure to buy some Elmer's or other paper glue before you try your first project, if you buy this kit.

I recommend tweezers for holding the paper together while the glue dries, especially with difficult shapes like the squares.

  • @tanalee09 Thank you for your kind comment and have fun with quilling! I use a very cheap white paper glue.... it works very well.... you have to use a tiny dot so that you don't make a mess and it can dry fast... Thanks for watching! :)

  • zaraz zasne:/ masz bardzo usypiający głos......

  • These Christmas shapes are beautiful. I was just wandering if a quilling tool for the curling is vital? You are an amazing teacher by the way.

  • @RubyMayBeatrix I've just seen that I didn't answer your question.. I'm so sorry!

Well, an exact tool like this is not vital, if you can find or make something that can hold your paper and allows you to curl it in a uniform way... I first tried to think of something, before I bought mine, but I couldn't figure it out... maybe just a wooden stick that you cut in half at one end and make it bigger on the other side, so it is easier to hold... Thanks for your kind comment! :)

  • Wow. You're a very good teacher you make it look so easy. I have clumsy fingers but I'll try it anyway, I only have to find a quilling tool for the curling. Thanks for posting.

  • @tramdass1010 Quilling is very easy you know... but sure you will have to do some shapes before you can "feel" how to do it right, how to hold it etc........ but this is the case for anybody! Don't take it too seriously at the beginning, just practice.. even if you have some shapes that are not very well done, you can do some other ones in stead... quilling is fun because it is not expensive, you don't need a lot of material, the basics are very simple.. all you need is just a bit of imagination

  • @kativilaga thanks for the advice.

  • I have always wanted to learn the art of quilling but never knew how to make the circles. Where can I find one of those rulers at? Does anyone know? Simply beautiful for embellishing cards. Especially those Christmas cards and no one hardly gets those kind. Thank you for your tutorial. It was easy to follow and understand.

  • @iscrca Hi!

The ruler I use is just a "basic" ruler that I bought in our local paper shop...

But you can find special quilling ones in an art and cratf shop or on the internet, on the site of Quilled creations..they also have quilling paper and other tools...

I also think that handmade presents, or even cards are always very precious!

I'm very happy that this video was useful for so many people!

    Have fun!

  • I used to do that with the Ikea measurers when I was young! I didn't use any glue or tools though...

  • amazing !

  • @TheSmeaky Thank you! :)

  • Wow! I didn't know about this art before! Its wonderful!

And you presented it in a very sweet way! Thank you!

  • @Humaism Thank you so much! It is very easy but very effective and you don't need much materials, just time and patience! ;)

  • thank u so much kativilaga, i have learn a lot. very beautful

  • @pallavilokhande12345 You are very welcome! :)

  • I have a question. I see in the viedo you cut out the paper strips -- how do you cut them to size?.

  • @pparisihanuman Sorry for answering so late.. actually, I just cut them with a scalpel and a metal ruler.. kind of annoing at first but after a while it just becomes part of the job... and that way, I choose the paper I want, and it is much less expensive too.

  • i like this idea

    u are good creative

    i like ur work

i can learn something more from ur channal

    u are best

  • I like it. It is quite easy to do . Thanks a lot

  • @09yim Yes it is easy, cheap and you don't need a lot of material.. only patience and time... :))

  • @Coco2say Thank you so much! I'm happy that you like it

Lots of new creative ideas are coming.... :))

    Thanks for watching!

  • wat kind of paper can we use? can i use chart...?

  • You can by quilling paper at a craft store.. it is easier and quicker, they have all sizes and colors.. but I like to do it myself, so I just chose any papar I like and then cut a piece to see if it is "quillible"... usually, everything works.... it doesn't have to be too thick like card board...because then it breaks and you can not quille it smoothely... almost everything works...

  • What a joy to watch you work and listen to your lovely voice! You've made this look easier than it is, I think, but I'm inspired to try. Thank you for this tutorial.

  • You are so welcome....It was very pretty on the christmas tree, but it is also good for other purposes... and it is easy you know! You just need a little bit of practice for the first shapes, then it goes by itself! Have fun with it!

  • Beautiful, easy and amazing art. Thank you for making tutorial =)

  • You are very welcome! Thank you so much for your kind comment!

  • sooo creative, decorative, and cute great tortorial thank you so much i just love it!

  • You are very welcome! Thanks for the kind comment!

  • Lovely work and nice tutorial. I want to learn quilling. I have one question How do you cut those stripes at home?

  • Sorry for answering so late.. actually, I just cut them with a scalpel and a metal ruler.. kind of annoing at first but after a while it just becomes part of the job... and that way, I choose the paper I want, and it is much less expensive too...

  • I made Christmas snowflake ornaments for family and to list in one of my Etsy stores. I loved watching your video. It was reassuring to see someone use the same techniques. I'll be watching for more.

  • Yes, it's great isn't it? I'm happy that you appretiate it!

    Thanks for watching!

  • Your video's are GREAT! You are very good at explaining, and it is just a bonus that you have such a beautiful voice and accent! Thanks very much for doing these. I am excited about quilling now!

  • Thank you so much for this nice comment!

Oh yes, you'll see, quilling is great, so easy and you can do pretty much everything with it! You don't need a lot of equipment and also it's very cheap... :))

  • thank you its very nice really :)

  • I'm glad that you like it! Thanks for the nice comment:))

  • WERE DO U GETT THE EQUIPMENT?

    xxx

  • @kermanshah123 If you dont have the equipments you can use toothpick.

  • Wow these are so pretty!!! just what I was looking for as I dont have alot of money to buy decorations. This looks like fun!!! Thanks so much for your help in showing how to do it! very very pretty!

  • You are very welcome!

I hope they will be useful for a lot of people!

Try them out, they look so nice on the Christmas tree..:))

  • hey you could try storing these in empty egg cartons if they are small enough!

  • Well, actually, they mesure about 8, 10, 12 cm of deameter, so they might be a bit big, but if you use fewer pieces, they will be much smaller it's up to you!

When I start making them, I just can not stop adding more and more "layers"..;))

  • Absolutely brilliant thank you.

    I will do that tomorrow.

    for my christmas tree :)

  • Sure, you should definitely try it out!

    Good work! Have fun!

  • can you use construction paper? also when it is dry should u put a clear coat on it or something to make it last longer?

  • You can use any kind of paper, if it's not too thick or not too thin... you can try to roll one stripe of it, to see how well it rolls out after you let it go.. to get an idea, what it would look like..

You can definitely try to put some vernish on it, it would make it harder and stronger, but I have never tried!

  • I'm going to try it out, too! I bet mine wouldn't be as good as yours though, I just started doing this a couple of weeks ago.

  • Off course it will be, it is so easy, you can never really go wrong with it! It is easy and cheap, but you will need time and patience! You can make anything out of it really! It also was my very first try!

  • very well done vid, i love it!!!

  • Thank you very much!

  • I love it . Thank you very much!!!

  • You are very welcome! I hope you are going to try it out for this upcoming christmas! It can also be great as a present to someone, if you have time and patience!

  • what else can i use if i don't have the "quilled creations" pencil that you used?

  • I don't know, maybe you can just do a tool from wood, you know, just a tooth stick for exemple, that you cut in half in one end, then make the other end bigger so that you can hold it easily.. I've never tried..

But i'm sure that even in Romania, you can find things like that in art&craft shops...

  • I totally love it sooooooooooo much thank you

  • You are very welcome!

  • what paper was used again??

  • wow, like it so much. looks fun. may i know wht type of paper r u using ?

  • It is really great... your make so nice shapes. Thank you for inspiration.

  • I'm happy that you like it!

    :))

  • You are welcome!

This is why I'm making these videos, so that people can learn new things.

    Thanks a lot for watching!

    :))

  • im will be making my own wedding invitations (about 15 of them) and id like to do them with quilling and i was looking for a pattern or something wedding related. i thought of champagne glasses, bells and or a bride and groom. My wedding might be set sometine around the end of january 2010.. any ideas?

  • Great!

It is a good idea but you will need some time if you have to do a lot! It should be something simple and almost abstract I think, not too figurative if you see what I mean... I have ideas but I should try them first to see if they work, then I'll post them here so that you can decide.... I mostly think about a women and a man profile, just a paper stripe for the face and quilled curves, all sorts, for their hair.. difficult to explain... I'll try it, thanks for your confidence in me!

  • Thanks so much. Your directions were easy to follow. I can't wait to make some of these ornaments for gift giving.

  • Yes, it is definitely a very nice and original present for your beloved ones, not expensive and easy too... but it takes time!!!

I always do it in my bed in the evenings, on a wooden board while watching a movie or talking to my family....

I hope you'll enjoy making them!

    Thanks for watching!

  • hey thanx i like it very much........

  • Hey,

thank you very much, I'm glad people like it!

It is very easy to do, try it out for this upcoming christmas!

    Thanks for watching!!

  • A very clear presentation. I do quilling and I found it affirming.

Thank you for this presentation. I never thought of Christmas decorations.

  • Thank you! I'm trying to be as clear as possible to make it easy for everybody. It is in stead very practical as a christmas decoration because it's very light, and it looks so pretty on the christmas tree!!!!

  • thanks for this explanation..i alredy tried it and it looks really cool ;)

  • I'm happy that you like it, and that it can be useful;))

See you soon for with new ideas!

  • really nice! thank u for the tutorial~

  • You are very welcom! I'm pleased that you like it! Thanks for the nice comment!

  • Me encanto, no tenia idea de que existiera este tipo de trabajo. Felicitaciones es muy bonito!

  • Muchas gracias!

  • So so pretty! I always wanted to learn how people did this but wasn't sure where to start! I want to learn more! I subscribed to your videos! Can't wait to see what else you create! Very very lovely!

  • Thanks a lot!

It is such a pleasure to show things to people and find out that they enjoy watching them and that it can be useful to them.

You never have to be affraid to try things.

Quilling is fun because the basic shapes are easy to make, and once you have practiced them a bit, you can make anything you want simply by assembling them. Actually, I've discovered quilling just before putting this tutorial up.

Thanks for commenting and have fun!

  • Very beautiful....really amazed by your creativity and creations....keep posting ideas and crafts like this..

  • Thank you so much!

I promise I'll keep showing you new things.

I have so many ideas, I wish I would have more time to do them...

    Thanks for commenting!

  • It was just a regular letter size paper and I cut it up along the longer side wich means approx 30 cm. But if your paper is longer it doesn't matter, you just have to chose a bigger circle probably when you let them roll out. As I said, try to respect the natural curling of the paper to obtain more regular inner circles. It also depends on your paper, try it out and you'll see.. Thanks for commenting and have fun....

  • can u please tell me how long that paper was becuase i have those long strips u buy and i awnt to know how short u cut it and great job

  • The new Christas Cookie tutorial has just arrived! Check it out!

  • Thanks... It's easy to make and cheap.. You just need time.

I'll show you what it looks like on my Christmas tree in a month and also you'll be able to see my christmas cookies. That is going to be the next tutorial.

    Thanks for watching

  • this is pretty cool. i've never seen anything like it.
